Special Event

Just tried to call DVC (5:55 p.m.) and reached a recording that the offices are closed due to a special event. Does anyone know what this is about? Just curious.

Also, can someone tell me about the current specials that are being offered if I purchased points for SSR? Lastly, what is the going rate? I think I've read $89/point.

$89 per point is the gross fee. The current promotions are that you can either get a flat $5 off per point, or you can get $10 off per point if you are willing to give up your first year's points (Magical Beginnings.)

I talked to my rep last night and there was a special employee meeting last night. He suspected they were going to talk about increasing sales costs for SSR by discontinuing the discount soon due to opening and no problems with sales.

"Special Event" is part of the jargon that Disney uses, like saying "Cast Member" instead of employee and "On Stage" instead of in the park. I think it's cool.
