Special Event at HS Sci Fi in May?????

ADR's are being changed for Sci Fi in May and this is because of some "special event" that is taking place???? There have been many of us that have had our meal times shifted..... spoke with the GM of Sci Fi today and he said that it is confidential but wouldnt be surprised if we heard something in the near future??? Looks like instead of opening at 11, they are not opening until 12:10????? Not sure if this is for the whole month specifically , my ADR was on a Wednesday so, not sure that it is Star Wars related??? Curious.....

May is the 25th anniversary for DHS, so that may have something to do with it. Also they are having a maleficent viewing thing at DHS in April so maybe it will go into May as well.

My ADR was for 11:40 on Wed May 21st . There are a number of people that have posted under the dining reservation thread that have had their time changed as well and the ones posted were random dates throughout May. Originally, I was told that they were changing the opening hours of Sci Fi from 11:00 to 12:10- which really wouldnt make much sense because it's usually real busy and the choices for TS in HS are very limited. When the GM called me today ( and was able to squeeze us in at 12:10- they had originally rescheduled me for 1:55), he is the one who explained that there was a special event that was going to be happening and that we would probably hear about it soon. Not quite sure- dont think this is it-

The upcoming Maleficent film, starring Angelina Jolie, opens in theaters May 30. Theme park guests can see an extended preview of the film beginning April 18 and running through mid-June.

Wouldnt think it's Star Wars related since it's during the week as well??????

It might be related to DHS's 25th anniversary that is this May. Nothing has been announced regarding the anniversary but DHS does turn 25 in May they have limited edition pins out already.

You might be okay since it's after 12:10- looks like they are rearranging the ones that we earlier than that. Also, if they do change it, the new time would appear in your MDE

Here's my guess

Reports today they are doing Star Wars character meals during Star Wars weekends so I am thinking this has something to do with it.

Hi, I'm wondering if Disney has ever done this before? How does that work with the Star Wars characters? Do they come by your table, and if so how does that work in a dark room like the Sci Fi? Would you even get to enjoy the clips of the movie on the big screen if Stormtroopers are walking by? lol

I think this is something new they are doing I actually haven't found anything confirmed from Disney but several sources have said its happening. I would think it would be the same as any other character dining experience. I'm also not sure if it will happen at Sci-fi or not i just saw this reported and thought this may have to do with what is happening at Sci-fi.

I wouldn't be surprised but I would be disappointed. Not that I don't like Star Wars, I love it. I just think Sci-Fi is great as it is.

It also would not be too much of a redesign. Replace the car with vehicles from the films, repaint the walls, and show different movies on the scene.
