Special Countdown

We have 153 days to go and I soon want to start more for our count down then just marking off the days. Any ideas of a fun way to count down and get excited for our 5 and 8 year old? We are doing our first F&W and MNSSHP

I have done and will do Movie themed nights and I did a count down chain from 100 days with a Disney fact or trivia on each one which was cool. We did a surprise DCL last year so we decided not to surprise this year (I decided, DH said just yesterday he would have again)
What else is your fun ways to count down?

Also has anyone recently gotten the book "The Guide to the magic?" We have an older copy with toontown(and toontown was already gone when we went.) Yds loves that book so if its updated, I would get him another.

I started at about 40 days and did a Disney joke-a-day countdown. The kids couldn't wait for the next day to read the Joke of the Day. It took a little while to get a lot of Disney jokes - but it was so much fun.
