I'll be at the World for my birthday next week, and I am planning how to spend my gift card
Has anybody seen any recent offers where you spend, say, $30 and then get a discount on another item, usually at Downtown Disney?
Thanks.

I have seen spend $20, get a Mickey watch for $12.95 ($39.95 value). It's a nice watch...Mom and I are both thinking of getting it. (you can get men's or women's...black strap, face has Mickey & Cinderella's castle)
I also saw at MK you could also spend $30 and get a canvas tote for $12.95. DS14 thought it looked cool--I thought it looked cheap.
So if you spent $50 there you could get both. (It was at the Xmas store)
We have not shopped much yet, but I imagine it is all over WDW, especially the watch since it is at our resort & we saw it at MK.

We were at WDW about 2 weeks ago and it was a nice canvas totebag for (I think!) $10 with $30 purchase, or a wheeled duffel bag for $18.95 with $50 purchase, and they would let you purchase more than one of the bonus item if you wanted to.

Last summer, I bought that wheeled duffel bag, and I LOVE it! It is just the right size for a weekend bag. It has held up to my abuse for a year and 2 months now :)

My DS got the watch and a throw blanket last April. The watch Is real neat his mom Got the Blanket:cloud9:.I want to get the rolling Bag this year

This is correct for the World Of Disney in DTD. Have fun shopping!!!!

I got the canvas tote about a year ago and love it. This trip I'm looking to get the watch.

Stupid question: if you get the wheeled tote, how do you bring it home? Will it fit in a carry on bag?

It can be a carry on bag, but it is a bit big to fit in another bag and leave room for anything else. This is b/c of the internal frame for the pull bar and the wheels on the other end (work just like a piece of luggage, but it is way smaller). It really is like the size of a small wheeled backpack (with an expandable/retractable handle on one side).

So it is smaller than the maximum size for a carry on, but big enough to basically take up all the room in a checked bag?
I feel like the late, great Steve Allen asking, "Is it bigger than a breadbox?"

I hope the wheeled duffel is still available next week!! I will stuff it full of all my souvenirs for the trip home.

We just got back last Friday - both DH and I got the watch, but they are only available at the parks. I didn't have a problem spending $20 twice to get each watch for $12.95. My BFF got the rolling duffle bag at the World of Disney - I loved the one I got last year, only this year's has a better picture of Mickey on it. She filled it with souvies to take on the plane.
Also look for red tags while shopping - they don't announce sales, you have to look - I got gifts at the Christmas store at DTD - a $10 votive Micky head for $2.99, and Christmas washcloths (the ones that grow) in a plastic ornament ball for $1.99 - I also found a great purse in both black and pink for $14.99 regular $44.95, and there were other styles for $12.99 as well - these were in the parks and at DTD. I am the red tag queen of our family, so if it's on sale, I will find it!

Happy shopping!

Another thing I found on our trip two weeks ago is a digital photo frame keychain. It is only sold at Chester & Hester's in AK. The cost is $20 with a $50 purchase. It's supposed to be pre-loaded with 20 (I think) disney pics and then there is plenty of space for you to add your own pics. I haven't connected it to the computer yet but it seems like it will be cool.

Definitely keep an eye out for sales. Besides the "with purchase" items, as a pp mentioned, there are items at sale in the park stores. In the Rock N Rollercoaster store, if you purchased the photo, you got the large 8x10 frame for $10. Also in the store outside of Backlot Tours (I think) my daughter got Jack (from A Nightmare Before Christmas) tank and shorts on sale ($5.99 and $6.99) each instead of $15 or $16 each.

Just got back. Downtown Disney offered a wheeled duffle bag for $18.95 with a $30 purchase and/or a canvas bag for $10 with a $50 purchase. In park, the offer (which I used) is a nice Mickey watch for $12.95 with a $20 purchase, and/or a canvas bag for $10 with a $30 purchase.
