Hello,

We'll be at WDW Dec 9 - 12 & have booked the BBB for my 6 yr old daughter. Anyone know of any special activites for an 8 yr old boy? Btw, he's a sports nut! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Steve

Pirate cruise which leaves from GF or YC --kids go out on pontoon boat looking for buried treasure

Family Magic Tour at MK --makes sure he watches Peter Pan movie before you go.

Get him a haircut at the Barbershop at the MK

EVERYTHING at WDW is a special activitiy for an 8YO boy! LOL!

But if he's a sports nut, he'd get a kick out of having dinner at the ESPN club on the Boardwalk - all the TV screens playing all the games, etc. After dinner you could hang out at the Boardwalk and watch the Magicians, jugglers.

Yeah, I know WDW is "everything" on the whole for him or any kid. Just looking for something special, just for him. Pirate treasure hunt is a good idea, but 2 hours long. I havent been to the World in awhile & didnt know if there were any special activities for a huge sports fan. ESPN club is a good start though.

Thanks,

Steve

If the pirate cruise is full, maybe he'd be content with a "build your own light sabre" if he likes Star Wars, or if he's into LEGO, he could fill a bucket of bricks at the LEGO store and/or build your own minifigs.

Haha, I'm glad someone said it before I did! (Um, there's this little place where you're going to be called Walt Disney World. You should try that. He might like it!) :rotfl:

Not sure if it's special enough for ya, but Tom Sawyers Island (or whatever they're calling it these days) is pretty darn fun for 8y/o boys. :thumbsup2

I highly recommend the pirates cruise too. You had a concern about the length of the cruise. Is that because you don't want your son away from you for that length of time? I can tell you from first hand experience, that there's nothing to worry about. My daughter-in-law just about cried at the thought of her only child (at the time) sailing off for two hours without her. After she saw the Cast Members in action before the cruise, she looked at me and said "what the hell was I worried about, this is Disney."

Thanks for all the suggestions, definitely a big Star Wars fan! Maybe while my daughter is at BBB, we can ride 1 of the "adult/big kid" rides, like Tower of Terror!! He's 51 inches tall. Is there a place to check out height requirements??

Rent a Sea Raycer at one of the MK resorts (GF, Poly, CR or WL) and cruise around Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake for an hour. Costs less than $30. These are the small two person water craft you can rent at any of the marinas. They are a lot of fun, and in an hour you can go all over Seven Seas Lagoon to get a unique perspective on the MK and the resorts, and go all around Bay Lake.
