Great thread...thanks to all for putting so much energy and enthusiasm into it.
Our family (DH, DW, DS13, DD10) had a great surprise last week when our waitlist on this special 5-Night cruise came through! Rather than going to Disney's Beach Club for a week (our first stay there, which we were very much looking forward to), we are now going on our second Disney cruise, and didn't even have to adjust our airline flights. We are super excited for many reasons, one of them being that during our first DCL trip (Feb 05) the Magic could not make it into Castaway Cay because of unfavorable tides. Our entire extended family was onboard, and we all took it with good humor (we still laugh about the Captain's announcements and multiple "attempts" to get into CC that morning after his first very serious attempt early that morning). I even had flown in from Fairbanks, Alaska the day before we departed on that trip, and it was -48F that morning...and over 70F when I landed in Orlando! But thats another story...
Anyway, on this 5-Night trip, however, we are going to CC twice...sweet...so hopefully our per trip average will be a solid "1" after this trip!
Obviously, since we got our confirmation so close to the departure date, the reservation link for Palo's is already closed. I know they hold some reservations for the day we depart, but does anyone have any idea how quickly those will go if we get to the port early? Also, anything else we should be thinking about now that we are so close to the cruise date?
See you all onboard!![]()
If you are worried about feeling left out, I sure wouldn't worry. We have never met anyone that will be on this cruise. It will be fun putting faces with screen names, as I am sure that I have a lot of preconceived notions as to what some folks look like, and I am sure my ideas are nothing like what the real person looks like.![]()
It will probably be interesting to see how few people on the ship are not wearing lanyards from our group. Do you think folks will be wearing them most of the time?
Hey there! I don't know anyone either b/c this is our first cruise, but have a feeling we are going to get to know each other. I remember when looking at the FE list, there was a group all around us and I remembered your screen name! We are in cabin 6520 in between you and your friends. We have an 8 yr old and a 3 yr old and see you guys have lotsa kids in your cabins... so lotsa fun in the area. Looking forward to seeing you on the ship!
I'm pretty sure I know you already![]()
I just discovered Zazzle.com....what a fun site! Got our FE gifts from OTC, and made custom stickers and a magnet for our door from Zazzle. I feel like I am spending as much as I will on vacation before the vacation! But, as usual, it is fun![]()
Merrick is still not walking on his own...don't know if that is good or bad. I am not sure if I want a newly walking toddler at WDW or on a rocking ship, but I am anxious for him to walk without needing to hold our hand. I imagined him unsteadily walking up to characters on the ship, but alas, he just may be crawling instead!![]()

Well, you almost need to wear a lanyard to hold your key to the world card, there not being pockets in bathing suits, so i'm betting those who have them will wear them.
I think a lot of people wear them a Lot.
it is a great place to keep your room key .
you will see them all over ...
How old is Merrick?? I'm trying to convince my daughter to let me take MD on a cruise in December..or at the very least next May. She's not keen on the idea at all... now she's telling me he has to talk, walk and swim first....![]()
* before name means you will be onboard! & info we have is correct!
Dis Name in Red = Main Dining
Dis Name in Blue = Late Dining
If your First names are in Magenta, It indicates that you are doing Back 2 Back cruises, That would be the 15 Night repo before this cruise.
* MJY - Mike - a Catholic priest - 6632
Welcome back Scott & Lynn, Ken & Shari and Linda & Robert....hope you had a MAGICal cruise!!!!!!
laying by the pool at VWL and counting the minutes!!! How about you??
Hi Everyone
Made it home in record time - no traffic! All unpacked and laundry started. Had a great trip. Weather was interesting. Very hot in Cabo, very wet in Mazatlan, hot and humid in PV.
DCL did very little for the 10th. Nothing special at all. They had a cake that said "Happy Anniversary". Alex and Carolyn had buttons made for everyone on the ship. We had a group go around and put them on everyones Fish.
Had a great time on the ATVs in Cabo and zipping in PV.
I'm now waiting for Shari to get the buffet ready for lunch - - - oh, wait - no buffet? I guess I'm going to have to call room service - - - oh, wait - no room service. What - I have to fix my own lunch? I think it's time for a cruise!!!!!!![]()

Ah Lanyards, they can be a double-edged sword.![]()
(I appologize to those that have heard this one)
On the first cruise with a lot of these folks we had the lanyards.
Second night out, Lee and I had ours on going to dinner.
As we were getting on the elevator a woman looked at us, put her nose in the air and quite snootily said, "Oh, you are one of those lanyard people" and never said another word.![]()
I had not even done anything remotely offensive.![]()
But after the big sleep over, the jammie breakfast, the great chair robbery, ect. I began to understand what kind of group I was associated with.![]()
But I always wear mine with pride.
It will be a good time.
