Good morning! I have been reading this board for a long time and have posted occasionally with very welcoming responses from all of you! Everyone seems so friendly here! I am wondering however, did you all come to know one another through these boards alone? Some of you seem to know each other pretty well, it seems some of you may have cruised together before and stayed in touch and others are meeting for the first time on this cruise. Is that right? All of us brought together by Disney I guess!

Some of you are doing so much extra work to make this cruise special for the rest of us, (organizing events, making cabin lists, fish extender info etc) and I really appreciate it! My older kids 16 & 13 have done Disney world many times but the 5 year old hasn't had the opportunity being that now we are so busy with the oldest ones activities! I know "not fair" but that's how it goes. So I think of this first Disney cruise as "her cruise" and I know it will be special because of all the GREAT info I have found on this board! So THANK YOU! :yay:

Sorry for the long post! Have a great weekend!

Morning, Macmom! Doggone that lacrosse!! It can be addicting and demanding!!

I can't speak for the others, who I believe have cruised together before, but I have never met anyone on our cruise. There are a couple that I know from other boards but, again, have never met face to face.

Days to sailing

Aaahhhhh lacrosse!!! We are in full football mode now, and dance, dance team, drivers ed, back to school, back to work (I work at a school!) Can't wait for this vacation!

We are still in lacrosse mode. Laxlad plays indoor in the fall but decided to give up soccer. Did the drivers ed thing and now he has a job. I think we are getting a taste of things to come; he is never around - either workin or sleepin. Maybe we can get reaquainted with him on this cruise!!;)

Nice numbers, Rwethereyet!!

I am getting ooohhhh sooooo excited! Yeah! Trip insurance is bought, bringing back memories of 2004:scared1: , now just need to start packing...or at least making the packing list!

MacMom, I had the pleasure of being stateroom neighbors with Jen and Peter on a cruise way back in Oct 2004 - Cruistoberfest! (we had 6632, they had 6634, right?) ....Tracy and Bill were on the same cruise and we were neighbors on Castaway Cay! I orginally met them here on a thread for that was for that cruise. Since that, I ocassionally had come across Peter and Jen on the boards and was soooo excited that Tracy had become a Dreams TA. Imagine my suprise when we decided to do this cruise and realized by chance, they were all on it!

Yes...many of us on this cruise met during DCL's first Panama canal cruise back in May 2005 as well as on DCL's 11 night Southern Caribbean Cruise back in September 2006.

My Mom and I have kept in touch with quite a few people we have met on our cruises and have even become like family with some...I know I couldn't imagine going to WDW or sailing now without my DisFamily.

My Mom and I have also had the pleasure of meeting up with some of the cruisers on this cruise that we had not met before at WDW over the past year.....Sharon (twinmom108) and her son, and Jill (two-foxes) and her son Merrick....

There are no words to thank the DisBoards for enriching my life by bringing all these wonderful people into my "family"

Well said E...

We have cruised with 18 names listed on the roster, on the cruises mentioned above and or others...
Many of the folks on the roster do what we like to call, The firsts, that is when DCl announces a new route we do the first trip planned to that place..
Quite a few of those people onboard because it is the first time the Magic has done a 5 night cruise..

We also meet at the world several other times in the year, like at marathons and so on.
We have cruised about 12 times, cant remember for sure!

I am sure some of the new folks will be chatting with others after the cruise, after all the fun you have, and book your next cruise, the lanyards help, you see some one and you feel like it is ok to talk to them, for some reason, we have met many it is like you have extended family on the ship, we have met many this way,
weather it is just to say hi, or to anwser a question that a first time cruiser may not know the anwser to.
Dont be afraid to ask there is a lot of DCL knowledge that is going to be onboard, and we dont like to take no for an anwser! :lmao:

If there is a way to make it happen and or you dont think something is right, someone will know..
:wizard:

We are actually sharing a cabin with Winotracy and Bill, we Met them on a cruise many moons ago.

Great thread...thanks to all for putting so much energy and enthusiasm into it.

Our family (DH, DW, DS13, DD10) had a great surprise last week when our waitlist on this special 5-Night cruise came through! Rather than going to Disney's Beach Club for a week (our first stay there, which we were very much looking forward to), we are now going on our second Disney cruise, and didn't even have to adjust our airline flights. We are super excited for many reasons, one of them being that during our first DCL trip (Feb 05) the Magic could not make it into Castaway Cay because of unfavorable tides. Our entire extended family was onboard, and we all took it with good humor (we still laugh about the Captain's announcements and multiple "attempts" to get into CC that morning after his first very serious attempt early that morning). I even had flown in from Fairbanks, Alaska the day before we departed on that trip, and it was -48F that morning...and over 70F when I landed in Orlando! But thats another story...

Anyway, on this 5-Night trip, however, we are going to CC twice...sweet...so hopefully our per trip average will be a solid "1" after this trip!

Obviously, since we got our confirmation so close to the departure date, the reservation link for Palo's is already closed. I know they hold some reservations for the day we depart, but does anyone have any idea how quickly those will go if we get to the port early? Also, anything else we should be thinking about now that we are so close to the cruise date?

See you all onboard!:)

Good for you and welcome aboard!! The pts. didn't look that bad for this cruise but then we booked so long ago that we didn't own DVC at that point.

You're in for a treat at CC!

Yep, hopefully with 2 days at CC, we will make at least one!

We have always been able to get a Palo dinner after we have gotten on the ship. You may have to be flexible as to day and time, but you should be able to get something if you are there shortly after they start boarding.

Thanks...yes, the DVC points were the best we have seen for this cruise. While BCV would have been our first DVC trip to WDW (we've been to DLR on DVC points), we are really glad this worked out. :cool1:

Many thanks. We so enjoyed Palo during our Feb 05 cruise for both dinner and brunch, that we really want to go again. Your info is very hopeful...

If you are worried about feeling left out, I sure wouldn't worry. We have never met anyone that will be on this cruise. It will be fun putting faces with screen names, as I am sure that I have a lot of preconceived notions as to what some folks look like, and I am sure my ideas are nothing like what the real person looks like.

It will probably be interesting to see how few people on the ship are not wearing lanyards from our group. Do you think folks will be wearing them most of the time?

Well, you almost need to wear a lanyard to hold your key to the world card, there not being pockets in bathing suits, so i'm betting those who have them will wear them.

Is that what KTTW stands for? We have begun to call it "The Key to the Wallet" card!!!:lmao:

Macmom, i don't know anyone here either - but from our last cruise with Dis members (over new years) it really doesn't matter all that much.. everyone really is good at making everyone else (a.k.a. us newbies) feel at home. :)

Also, i just checked and our flight info is up!! (my inlaws always book flight thru DCL- but, i guess that's another discussion..) So, i feel much better knowing our flight times!
We are arriving at MCO at 4:18pm the night before, and we are staying at the Hyatt at MCO.

Can't wait!! Finished and ordered my FE gifts too today! My dd is so excited to be going and finding all these cabins! We will probabaly be doing a couple decks a day..

Hey there! I don't know anyone either b/c this is our first cruise, but have a feeling we are going to get to know each other. I remember when looking at the FE list, there was a group all around us and I remembered your screen name! We are in cabin 6520 in between you and your friends. We have an 8 yr old and a 3 yr old and see you guys have lotsa kids in your cabins... so lotsa fun in the area. Looking forward to seeing you on the ship!
