Special 9/1/08 Cruise Continued - Part 3

We will also be in WDW before the cruise. We arrive on the 28th, staying at ASM, then we leave on the 31st to visit my grandmother a bit south for the day, then up to the cruise.

I checked our docs and they are scheduled to be delivered to Pheonix, AZ on the 11th. Problem is we live in Roanoke, VA???:confused3

be sure to put in your zip code and United States. Other companies may be using the same number as your reservation number for their reference number.

Or another thought. Is your TA in Phoenix? They could be going there first.

Look for us at the port we will have all our BLING on walking like hte Night Of the Living DEAD. :lmao: :rotfl2: or in an electric or regular wheel chairs, any volunteer pushers out there?

Allen says that could be an excuse to bring one of our DS's. . . . .NOT!!!! We'll also be flying out on a red-eye (from Colorado Springs) and arriving at MCO on 8/30 around 5:30 am. Allen said I'd have to find him a place to sleep until we can get into our room. We'll be staying at CSR so hopefully I'll be able to find an empty hammock for him. LOL

Oh Yeah, I did pick up a grass skirt for Allen yesterday which I'm hiding in a closet till it's time to pack.:rotfl:

Got a call from the DR yesterday ie: thyroid biopsy. He wasn't 100% certain which makes me wonder why didn't he wait to call me till he was certain? He told me it looks benign but we'll have to watch it and it may need to be removed in the future. He also said that the 2nd smaller nodule might be precancerous (whatever that means), but he needed to check futher with the pathologist. I guess this is good news, anyways I have more important things to think about. . . . like getting ready for this fabulous cruise and spending time with some new friends.:cool1:

That was my first thought, but the date ranges match what everyone else seems to be posting, arriving on Monday, and it was shipped from Orlando so what are the chances that its another company.

This cruise was a gift from my in-laws, and we booked through RCI, thats where they got the gift from. RCI's headquartes may very well be in Pheonix. I'm going to call them and find out.

Our next cruise we will be sure to book through you though.:earboy2:

Our documents are in Colorado, but won't make their way up north from UPS in the Denver area until Monday. Such a good day when the documents arrive:banana:

Hoooooraaaaaaay!

BECAUSE i AM A NEWBIE I FOULED UP OUR PRESTAY THEN CRUISE THEN POST STAY SCHEDULE A BIT.

Well, actually the schedule is fine, it's just that the transportation seems a little .........convoluted.
My hubby hates driving (does a lot of it for work) and requested that i fix things so that he does NOT have to drive at all while on vacay. Okey dokey, no problem.
I scheduled us to stay on property at Beach Club for the night before (we arrive at Orlando airport at 4:30 in the afternoon). BUT I only booked one room and in order to attach it to our cruise ressie they had to only book one of us (cause we are in 2 staterooms as there are 5 of us). I know 5 can sleep in the rooms at Beach Club and since it's only one night. . . .but the DCL computers don't like that so Only daughter and me are listed. I was assured all of us can be transported via Magical Express. All of us will then be transported by DCL in the am to the port.
Its after the cruise that things get really wierd. I booked the Movies resort separately. There is no transportation to that resort straight from the port, so i have us going back to the airport and taking Magical Express from there!!:confused3 :confused3 :confused3

Is there an easier way??? THat will NOT involve a rental car?

help please:confused:

Thanks

Hi everyone.
Now that we are back from the Magic 10 year anniversary cruise, we can start concentrating on the 5 day cruise. For the roster, we are in cabin 6574, have first seating for dinner, and we live in Lake Mary, FL. This will be DCL cruise number 39 for us. Is it too late to get on the Fish Extender list? We have the one we made, it got lots of comments on the Mexicam Riviera cruise especially form the kids. Looking forward to the cruise.
I had some minor hand surgery yesterday and we are leaving today for a week long meeting in Minneapolis. People at work are not sure I still work at the hospital. See you all soon. Alex

Boy, when I first got on this morning, I thought - great, only 3 pages to read - that was on the old thread, then I find 5 pages on the new thread, just since yesterday morning!

Janis - congrats on retirement!

Joanne - sorry about your loss.

Linda - good to hear from you again!

Since all the other Denver doc's are being delivered on Monday - maybe ours will be also. I did not check the link, figured that they would show when they showed. But we are Wyoming - not Colorado - that might make a difference, we normally get our doc's almost last - Linda in Utah is always last!

Scott and I will be at AKL for 2 days after the cruise.

WOW - I am trying to get caught up on all of the going-ons and what a great group of people getting this all together.

THANKS HYGIENE99 for contacting us regarding lanyards & namebadges. Let us know if there is anything we can do to contribute or "Donate". On our last cruise we didn't get involved with "the groups" but could tell how much fun the DISBOARD group was having. WOOOHOO !!

ATLANTIS: We made our reservations last night at the Comfort Suites so we can experience Atlantis without the cost. Our reservation was $125.00 plus other fees. ATLANTIS IS SO BEAUTIFUL. Stayed there a few years ago and wouldn't miss a visit for anything.

TRAVEL INSURANCE: We finally remembered to get travel Insurance. Went through USAA and only paid $150ish. Little cheaper than Disney.

CLIPART:
DISNEY's MAGIC ARTIST DELUXE has some awesome Disney Art that turns out great. Even Pirate Mickey & Minnie. Our program is a few years old but they still have copies on Ebay for around $4.00. Worth every penny not just for the cruise but as a great art program for kids.

BoosGram: We hope you get the rest and relaxation you need. I am 40 and taking care of my 85 year old grandmother that has moderate dementia. WHEW! I have to most admiration for someone who has been through it. I often say that I am not sure which is harder for the mind to go before the body or the body to go before the mind. You apparently had to deal with both. We are so sorry for your loss and do hope this cruise is a "New Beginning".

Just wanted to share a few of my tips in case anyone is wondering.

LOOKING FORWARD TO SPENDING OUR VACATION WITH ALL OF YOU !!!

THE VARNUMS OF ORLANDO

I know it was brought up at some point, but I don't remember a definate answer.

Are both ships going to be at CC on Tuesday. Everything online that I have seen says yes, but how can they dock both ships? I've never been there but from the photos it doesn't look possible.

If they are docking both ships will it be way over crowded?

We're an hour south of Denver and our docs are scheduled to arrive on Monday too!:cool1:

My sis is a teacher at Lewis Palmer and lives in Palmer Lake...near you at all?
(BTW, if we had this conversation before....stop me! I have the memory of, well, I just don't have a good memory:rolleyes1 )

So, where do you go to find out when and to what address your documents have been shipped? I have a TA, so they won't be comoing right to me, but I still want to see :3dglasses

and here is today's reminder of how few days are left to cross things off those ToDo lists:

Contact DCL or your TA and tell them you want the transfers to Movies. After the cruise they will take you to any of the Disney Resorts and Swan/Dolphin so no problem there. Since you already paid for two one ways (because of the Beach Club), there should be no additional charge.

I know it was brought up at some point, but I don't remember a definate answer.

Both ships are NOT at CC on Tuesday. The 4 night schedule is being altered to allow us to be there instead. They will have a day at sea so we may see them, but they are not docking.

For those who have not received your documents yet, here is a link that can help! http://wwwapps.ups.com/WebTracking/reference?loc=en_US Enter your DCL reservation number for the reference number. You may have to limit it to your country and zip/postal code, but you'll see the progress of your documents!

Mine got here today and Deb's gets to her on Monday :woohoo: :woohoo:

Thanks Tracy! Mine are scheduled for delivery on Monday August 11th.

I also went on line and got my stateroom number it is 2519. I know I'm on the FE list, but don't know if I need to give to anyone else or not.

:confused3

LINDA!!! You finally surface! Sure, blame it on work... we know you were on the anniversary cruise.... :lmao: Is Robert coming??

We ended up not going on the anniversary cruise, had to cancel at the last minute, but DCL was wonderful, they let me move to another cruise, only a $100 fee I think it was, maybe it was $75.

Robert is working on a job out of town (pipeline) and can't get off, I think my friend Karen is coming with me.

Can't wait to get on the ship and relax and see everyone!

Hey Jill, can't say my memory is any better than yours:rotfl: We are in Colorado Springs (North Briargate) so we're about 15-20 minutes from Palmer Lake. Do you come down this way very often?

Sharon

Seaulater, You've been away and had your hands full. I see you're on the "list" for a couple things - do you need a hand? You don't need any more stress, and I'll be glad to help anyway that I can!

Presented the budget to our Board last night and got it approved for our new fiscal year that starts Oct 1st, so that three month project is now done! YIPPEE!

This weekend I am planning on designing the scrapbook project we are doing. I have it all in my head, I just need to transfer it to the actual thing. Thanks for the offer on helping, I'll let everyone know at beginning of week my plans and what I may need help on.

I will try to "repent" and check the thread every day now.
