Don't print it yet!!! Your ending date is off. Should be 9/6. Otherwise it looks great!!

ohhh! Thanks for the ending date correction! LOL Must not have had enough coffee at that point! LOL

I am still back and forth on this cruise...... the sensible side says i don't need to go on 2 in one year, and we have other Disney vacations planned (see my siggy) that need to be paid for.. (well, november is paid already, just need spending $$, and the cruise - Dec/Jan is already paid, just need spending $$, but i don't have anything saved for feb. CA trip.. Only the room is paid..) So.... part of me says no.. (oh, plus we are going back to WDW for Nov. 2008 - which would be right after this cruise) and the Disney lover in me says ---
Hellooooooooooo are you stupid??!! How often are you going to stay concierge in a suite on a dcl??!! Duh!

I just don't know......... lol..

I hear your concerns about money. We are doing WDW and a western this September and then the Repo and the 5 day B 2 B in 08. Not sure how I am going to pay for them. I can't seem to save for more than one weeks vacation at time (Yearly) But this year we are going with my sister and her 9 year old twins who just lost their dad/husband in December so now I have to go. And next year I want to do the repo with the back to back. Not to metion that it is our 20th anniverary this year. Our 21 next year. I want to celebrate.

Hope you can figure how to cut the corners so you can join us. I have found that if I cut day to day living enough I can have my yearly Disney Dream. See you in 08. Lois

See, I will be the first to admit, this may not seem like a "problem" to anyone.. lol.. but, we are truly blessed by a family that likes to travel - and take us.. since there are only 3 of us (me, dh and dd). So, each year for Thanksgiving, my inlaws go to WDW (have for 20+ yrs) and now that there is just three of us - in my fam, we stay in their room, which is fine by me, cuz unlike most inlaws, we get along GREAT.. I LOVE THEM.. Now, that being said, they are also taking 11 of us on the DCL for New Yrs 2007/2008 this year (right after WDW), so those trips are basically paid for -- i just need spending money..
And, then in Feb 2008 my mom booked her timeshare in California, so we are going out there (just me and dd) so, all i need there is planefare and DLR tix. and spending money again..
Then, we are debating this cruise, since we could share the suite with my inlaws (just me and dd), but, I will have to pay for this one all by myself.
We are a working family - but DH's pay goes all to bills, and i own my own retail store - small gift boutique in my town.. very touristy area.. So, cash is tight.. however, I also help my dad sell on ebay to bring in extra $$, i take a percent of what he sells.. So, i was figuring, after giving my mil $400 down next week (that i have saved up), it would basically be a matter of raising $100 a mo. til June 2008 to cover the cruise.
But, in the meantime i need to save up spending for the other trips and planefare for Cal. trip. And being that i am newer in my business, just going on my 3rd year, i basically, put 90% back into the business still..

Oh, and not to mention, a huge goal of mine is to someday buy a small contract into the DVC, like 50 point resale.. So, this Sept 2008 cruise would be like 1/2 of what it would cost me for a resale.. So, i almost feel like holding out and saving up to buy the resale.. as this will be a "home" for years and years to come.. KWIM??

Sorry for rambling, i am sure most of you could care less.. LMAO.. ;) but, i guess i am just trying to think out loud.

Nobody's problems are the same so do not worry about that. While it may not be a huge problem it is something to think about. I bought into DVC with a small resale and it has been great because we really enjoy it. SO just do a list of pros and cons and see what you want to do. Good luck with your choice! I'm sure you have a lot more vacationing in your future!!:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

GO FOR IT. One never knows what is around the corner and we should all enjoy the moment if we can possibly do it.

Look at it this way. You can book now and if for some reason something happens, you can always cancel before you pay in full. If you really, really want to go - you'll find the money!

Being the compulsive obsessive planner that I am, I have an Excel spreadsheet for financial planning purposes. I amoritize the $ amount needed for all portions of the cruise and the exact date needed (e.g. post-cruise credit card bill is needed much later than cruise payment). I then take that amount out of my pay each pay period and deposit into my special "high interest bearing off-shore" savings account. Okay, so it isn't off-shore, but it IS in an account that requires me to TRANSFER the money to use it! No ATM card, no checks. In my banking software, I list each item that I'm saving for against that savings account so I won't blow the money on something less important to me.

:lmao: :lmao: :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

My current idea of scrapbooking is:

1) Think how fun it would be
2) Buy tons of supplies
3) Make room in closet for said supplies
4) Save lots of souvenirs for scrapbooking
5) Put souvenirs in a box
6) Mark box with the event (like "KINDERGARTEN" or "DISNEY CRUISE SAVE")
7) Make room in closet for box
8) Ignore all since it's nicely filed away in the closet

:lmao: :rotfl: :lmao:

Actually, if i book, i can't get my deposit back, b/c it's a suite. The paperwork and the reservation CM said that b/c it's a suite - the deposit is a NON refundable $400 PER PERSON.. Which is $800, for me and dd. That's alot of money to just lose if i can't go..
I kinda think that policy (if it's true) is stupid. I can see where they are coming from in a way, as there are limited number of suites available.. but my inlaws are booked for the suite anyway.. we are just adding on. So, even if we book (dd and myself) and wanted to cancel and transfer our deposit $ to my inlaws acct. - they won't do it..
So, I just need to firm up a decision before i give up my $800..

How funny! :rotfl: Actually, this is why i am glad i started digi scrappin'!! :thumbsup2 But, i still have a box filled with stuff from my mil's DCL.. that she saved for me! LOL :lmao:

You can transfer the deposit to another date though. I believe the reason they started doing it is the suites would book up and then people would cancel and they wouldn't sell all the suites then. This way you have to be really committed to going.

Ya, like i said, i can totally see their reasoning... and to be honest, i wouldn't book any vacation with the thought of possibly being able to cancel in my mind.. ;) (Unless something horrible and unexpected were to happen, then i guess i would have bigger things to deal with than losing $800) But, let's not think about THAT! :goodvibes Like i said, i would rather just take a little longer (though not TOO long..) to be sure. They have the room, but i don't want the risk of the boat filling and not being able to be added... imagine how bad that would be!!
