Won't be posting much today. Madigan (dd2) has picked up some sort of flu bug and is christening the rooms of our house one way or another. And Graiden (1 month DS) is feeding like a mad man still since last week sooo I have my hands full today... :o(

get some rest yourself - big storm coming our way - Hudson Valley - my kids have been nutty - change is air pressure I guess ;) It's so hard to watch your kids be sick - I always would rather it be me.

Crazed Me??:crazy2: I will be in a panic. I can't stop thinking of what I have to plan now!:rotfl:

I know I spent a lot of time planning and did not leave enough time for execution. ;) How could that have happened? But packing 2 kids and myself with so many different changes of clothes and matching this and that for pics. ugh.

This time I will just start dropping things in suitcases way earlier - it's just that we don't have clothes yet in next years size so I can't even start thinking about what we will wear for pics yet.

I saw a cute Mom and daughter red flowered Hawaiian type dress at the Poly last week when I was at WDW.

Good Morning! :sunny:
I'm not sure what we'll be doing yet. I'm afraid my kids will have a cross country meet the Saturday before, so we'll probably fly in to MCO on Saturday night or Sunday and just stay in Cocoa Beach until Monday. Our school will have already started so we'll probably spend the weekend doing missed work. :guilty: But at least we won't have to worry about it (hopefully) when we get back. :thumbsup2

We stayed at the Resort on Cocoa Beach which was about 3 miles from the pier. It was a really large 2 bedroom condo with kitchen, washing machine etc. Movie theater in house and nice pool. We enjoyed it and loved the space - especially since we had to manage with the ship cabin size.

To answer elaineteresa - We cruised last September and really enjoyed it. I originally booked for last September (and for Sept 2008) because of the prices. But I would also choose Sept over Jan and Dec because of the weather. I like my water warm, I don't think I could handle the water temps in the winter (even if it is the Caribbean). The only reasons that I would cruise in Dec would be for the holiday decorations and the price (which would be pretty good reasons and I may just do that this Dec :goodvibes ).

We went to St. John in December 2005 and had great warm weather. The water was warm too. The pool at the house was freezing though.

This DD in December was not very good weather at all - disappointing - we could not really enjoy the decks, pool etc. For a cruise, we spent too much time indoors, in my mind. I hope Sept. will be different even with the hurricane possibility. The ship is beautiful in December with the holiday decorations and the characters dressed in holiday garb. We got lots of nice pics but it was expensive to not be able to enjoy the weather. Maybe a short December cruise is the answer.

I can't believe we're over 400 posts already!! Elaine, I just went back to see your posts on this thread. I see your twins are a boy and a girl 6 years old right? My twins are a little older - 14 and identical boys. We have another son whose birthday is today, he's 13. It's almost like having triplets.:dance3:
We'll be leaving our teenager's home for this cruise though:woohoo: just DH and me.

Disney Dreamin'
Sharon

yes that is like triplets - wow. I so wanted to have another baby - just to see what it was like to just have one and get to enjoy it instead of being exhausted. lol.

Congratulations, you have graduated to travelling without the kids - only 6 more years for us ;) It actually went pretty quickly.

I hope your son has a wonderful birthday.

xxoo - elaine

I was just looking at the disney site and they let you pick rooms and it seemed there weren't as many as I would have though some cat. only had 5 or 6 rooms left. I did not look at suites tough. I wouldn't want to torture myself!

I don't think they show you every room available - they show the best of what is available in that category.

Please correct me - you more knowledgeable cruisers.

We are most likely going to drive unless we catch a great sale so we will drive halfway Saturday and get to WDW Sunday and just hang by the pool. No parks on this trip. Then drive to the port in the Morning.

Best Wishes. That has to be tough. I'm exhausted and nobody is sick.

Yea they only show a few, that bugs me because then if you want to check certain numbers it is pretty annoying. I do not know if I said this already but:welcome: to our cruise meet!:flower3:

A question for the seasoned disney cruisers. I am going on the Wonder 3 day in May. I wan't to do Palo the 2nd night because we are celebrating our 10th anniversary by going to the spa in nassau and then getting back on the boat and going to Palo. So here is my question what should I request for a dining rotation? I asked this on the main board and nobody responded so I thought I would ask you guys. TIA:goodvibes :goodvibes

Glad to hear I'm not the only planner out there! I've just spent the past week or so pouring over Disney info and finally decided on this cruise - DH doesn't know yet, too early to let him in on this one! I think I'll "surprise"the family as a christmas present! we went for cat 5 verandah - can't wait to be sitting back, with my cool island drink, soaking in the sun, I've even started making plans for the 2 days prior, I was thinking flying into Tampa, renting a car, spending a day or 2 at busch gardens, then driving to the port on Monday. Anyone one else making pre-cruise plans?

:welcome: I hope to be at animal kingdom villas the night before. Relaxing and getting ready for the cruise!:cloud9:

Yes, spending 15 days on the Magic, sailing from California, through the Panama Canal, arriving back at Port Canaveral to greet everyone there!!! :rotfl2:

Sorry, couldn't resist, I'm so bad!!! :lmao:

For those of you who have cruised in September and those of you who haven't, do you suggest getting insurance for this cruise? For our last two cruises we haven't, but since this cruise is during hurricane season should we? Also, if we did have a hurricane, what does insurance cover?

Thanks!
Lisa

Well, I'm not "seasoned" like the others in this thread, but to answer your question - I would probably request the APT (5:45 or 8:15) rotation. If I HAD to pick one restaurant to skip, then I guess it would be Parrot Cay. Animator's Palate and Triton's are a must in my book. :goodvibes

I'm for buying it. :thumbsup2 A few of us discussed this back on page 4 starting with post 55 and then the conversation is picked back up on page 6. I buy it for more reasons than a hurricane. I have a family of 5 so many things could go wrong or someone could get sick after I make that final payment and/or while we're on our cruise. :guilty: But I'm also a "worry-wort" and the insurance just helps me sleep a little better. :goodvibes

Any idea when we'll find out the dining rotation for this cruise? I'm also wondering when I'll want to book Palo.

I just wanted to pop in and introduce myself. I'm Lisa, and I'll be joining you along with my DH Chris, and three kids, DD will be 8, DS15 & DS17. We were originally booked on a June 08 cruise but decided to take advantage of this wonderful special itinerary. I'm a friend of Jessica's (Luv2Travel - she's the best), we were on the same cruise last September and we've been in touch online ever since. We love DCL and can't wait to set sail again! :
