We are considering a move in the next year to North Carolina, more specifically the northern Charlotte suburb of Davidson. With DS needing spec ed services I'm concerned about making sure we are relocating to an area with good services. Anyone have any info on good school districts in the Charlotte area or areas to stay away from? Are there resources out there where you can search for information?

My two cents from a Charlotte Native: I homeschool my special needs children due to the lack of services in Mecklenburg County. Funding and teaching jobs are continuing to be cut. Unemployment is at an all time high in NC. I would be happy to discuss any specific questions privately.

If you could head south of Charlotte into the Ft. Mill school district in SC, it would be a better option. I've heard really great things about it.

I second dis-happy on Ft Mill...I am sorry to say I really WOULD avoid CMS.
