1) QS eateries have had lower sales in burgers.
2) Lower sales seem to be due to
. . . changes to crumbling wheat buns
. . . changes to hamburger formulas
3) Burgers are down, and salad sales are skyrocketing !
4) Yes, salads at WDW !

5) Since so many complaints, WDW is experimenting
. . . they are trying different multi-grain buns
. . . they are trying different burger formulas
6) So, eating at different QS can have different tasting burgers.
7) QS ewmployees have talked about the changes (some actually are better).
8) And, WDW now has survey crews asking questions.

NOTE: Another change by Meg Crofton. Her first biggie was to standardize
the souvenirs for "One Disney". Thus, no longer the unique souvies from
different parks and different resorts. It might also be that not using different
souvenirs and using cheaper buns/meats saves a lot in purchasing costs.

THANKS for giving that inside info TRS! :thumbsup2 Good to know it DOES work on occasion.

Last time I was at MK with a friend she commented that Pecos Bill's had changed the burger bun so that it is much better now. I'm glad to hear that Disney responds to things like this!

1) Yes, they respond.
2) To money.
3) Especially the reduction of it.

If this Meg is responsible for getting rid of resort & park specific stuff, she should go the way of the crumbly wheat buns!:rolleyes1

I am sure there is someone between Meg Crofton and the buns, that had some imput on the changes.

Oh interesting...we are here now and yesterday when we were leaving DHS, I was asked to take a survey about dining at the parks...the focus of the survey was hamburgers. I gave them some very negative feedback about the burger I had at ABC Commisary (I know, my bad for even ordering it, but I anticipated the downpour and took shelter at an indoor QS location.) I hate 1000 Island dressing and NEVER expected it on my burger....ewwwww. I scraped it off. The bun I could live with. Thank goodness I ordered my own food before my kids joined me. Picky DS got the benefit of my experience and I ordered his burger with no sauce!

I personally HATE the standardized souvenirs! I want the unique and special that you can only get at the individual parks and individual resorts. It seemed to have started with the resort mugs! The shopping has gone downhill, not only in making everything the same, but also in the quality of material and how the item is made and I can often times find the exact same Disney souvenirs at my local Walmart and other stores in Virginia.

Same with food! My tastebuds want different choices! Everyone's tastebuds are different. What one person may love another person may hate.

I really hope they take the souvenir changes to heart. Unfortunately even though the "stuff" seems to be the same from park to park and resort to resort, it is still quite pricey. It is certainly cheaper to order 1000 blue shirts with "WDW Resorts" on them than it is to order 100 of 10 different shirts customized to an exclusive resort. I fear that if they change back, we won't be able to afford the merchandise.

With our upcoming stay at AKL, I know my family would love some AKL merchandise. My youngest is wearing an AK shirt that was purchased for my oldest dd on one of our first trips. It is such a cool shirt, partly because it isn't something you see everywhere else.

Yes, we have been complaining of this merhcandise generalizing for quite sometime now. It's really heart breaking when you think about it. I would really like to see the Dis or a large group start a email chain or fb page or something that to see the large about of people that this bothers. Once Disney sees how many people are against this maybe they will start to have a change of heart. It already costs us a small fortune to go there, can't we at least get a tshirt that says the place we stayed to show off to our friends back home? :confused3

The buns are awful and I really hope that they go back to the regular buns and I agree that the burgers have gotten BAD! DH used to really like the burgers but now will eat anything besides a burger. I also wish that they'd go back to the real chicken tenders for the kids' meals because those squished chicken pieces-parts things that they serve as nuggets are awful. I hate the idea of a "One Disney" and not being able to get park specific merchandise. First the removal of the resort specific mugs, then the amount of resort specific merchandise has dwindled to next to nothing and now in the parks too? Geesh!

I think they should still have resort specific and park specific merchandise as well. My family & I like to get something that represents a special part of our trip. If the items sold fit all the resorts & parks, it will eliminate our ability to chose the one special memory at a certain resort or park. I know when I tell my husband this he'll be really annoyed. Definitely should find out a way to contact to the company.

I am just glad there are more salads available. This is probably due to the amount of Americans trying to eat better.

The "new" buns have never been a real issue with our family but I hate the lack of resort specific merchandise. I, like the other posters, want something that shows which resort I stayed in or visitited.

TOTALLY agree w/ the PPs about the souveniers/merch! We LOVE to shop at WDW, but find ourselves going home w/ far, far less now. :guilty:

Gotta love it. Different burger formulas? How about...ground beef, salt, pepper?

More salads is a good thing... :cheer2:
However Meg Crofton's buns are decidedly NOT! :rolleyes1:goodvibes
