Alright, I mentioned my Baby Brownie on another thread about how it was my first camera, given to me by my late dad in the early 60's.

I was going thru some old photographs and love letters that were a part of mom's things when sis and I cleaned out the old home place.

The love letters were written to my mom by dad when he was in the Army. One letter, in particular, brought a tear to my eye.

The letter is dated June 5, 1944. A part of it reads:

"Say honey, can you get film by turning in a roll each time? I was just wondering if you could send me snaps of you every once in a while. If you haven't a camera, I have a baby brownie that uses 127 and I can't get film here since the last time I got a roll so I could send it to you if you promise to take snaps about once a week to keep me posted on my sweetheart. Can do?"

So, now there is mention of my Baby Brownie in dad's letter to my mom. It makes it all the more precious to me!:goodvibes

When dad came home from the Army he and mom were married and he became a printer by trade. I can't help but think about how much dad would have loved digital photography if he hadn't died in 1963 from Hodgkins.

What a precious story!! I would treasure that little camera too. :)

Scan in that letter and print out a copy and put in with that camera so down the line the rest of the family can understand just how special that baby is.
