I was wondering if your kids know who Michael Jackson is and what he is famous for?

DS (9) was asked the other day if he knew who Michael Jordan and Michael Jackson were....he knew who Michael Jordan was and why he was famous, but he honestly had no idea who Michael Jackson was.

I have introduced my kids to many "oldies in music" and, when they "get hooked", they are surprised at the realization that I know good music of any type!

You bet! Michael Jackson is a part of American Music history, in a talented, perverted kind of way. My DD 12 has been raised with music in her life and she certainly knows who the major players from the past and present are; Elvis, Elton John, Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennet (her first concert), Beach Boys, etc. and of course all the new stars.

BTW: DD thinks Jacko is a "freako" he really creeps her out!

yes dd knows who he is but there' a funny story to it.

At the Madame Tusseau Wax Museum, we saw a Michael Jackson figure. DD goes up to it and looks at it asking who it was. I answered Michael Jackson. She says really loud "I thought Michael Jackson was a boy!".

Everyone cracked up.

My 12 year old certainly does. He got into Thriller when he was about 8.
