Just wanted to share this:
I work for a very large retailer. One of the girls in my office is in charge of tracking down customers who pass bad checks, and contact the local law enforcement.
She recently found a bunch of bad checks from a large city (don't know if I can mention the name of the city). All of the checks were written in the same exact hand writing, and 'the customer' was able to present a valid photo ID. In all, there were 19 different ID's.
That means that someone was able to obtain 19 driver's licenses/photo ID's. According to the police, it was probably done one of two ways:
1. This person is 'in' with someone at the DMV and is issuing fake ID's.
2. This person has found someone who is brilliant at copying driver's licenses.
Here's the kicker....the police said this is happening ALOT.
No wonder it's so easy for terrorists to move about freely in this country! This is very scary.
I'm not trying to start a debate or an argument, but I'm just feeling like I want to share this info, and tell everyone to BE CAREFUL when using checks and credit cards. Make sure you always know where your drivers license is, and never let anyone borrow your pin numbers or use your credit cards!!
