I love my coffee! Where can I find it at the Fort? How early can I get it?
I'm trying to pack light in my pup but, will I be better off bringing my own brewing rig and supplies? Thanks! popcorn::

You can get coffee at both Trading posts but I believe they dont open untill about 8am. We just bring our own.

Bring your own, also I recommend using bottled water to make it as well. The FL water always tastes different to me.

Thanks for the "heads up" about the coffee and water...I suppose it won't hurt too much to bring my own. I want to wake up gently and not be surprised.

Trails End opens for breakfast around 7:30 a.m. and it plus the two Trading Posts can provide coffee. The refillable mugs also might be a deal.

I always like to get a newspaper in the morning at the Meadow Trading Post and sit on the porch and read it right after it opens. I'm not a coffee drinker (Diet Coke is my morning caffeine) but it amuses me how I see so many husbands walk in right after 8 a.m. and walk out minutes later with two cups of coffee in their hands.

We will have the refillable mugs with our dining plan, so that is a very big plus. We'll probably bring our maker and fixins along just in case but, I've been known to drink some really bad coffee.
My wife has already volunteered to make outpost runs early or late if I get a cart. She loves to drive a cart! That's how she learned to drive. :confused3
Thanks again to everyone!

There are some exceptions but coffee at disney is pretty bad. We carried Starbucks instant packs (I think called via) and an electric tea kettle to heat the water. The hot water came in handy for more then just coffee, we also made oat meal and heated up vacuum packed meals.

Any other trip and place I would probably do the same but, I think the atmosphere and time constraints wouldn't allow me to work these in. In my youth I put down enough reconstituted meals to plug a camel, so I suppose I've "earned the luxury" of letting someone else do my cooking for me here.:rotfl:
Welcome to the board, by the way!!! I am humbled that your first post came in answer to my thread! Maybe someday I'll get to return the favor!

If you listen to the main DISboard podcasts with Pete, Corey, and team, one of Pete's best rants (and there have been many) last year was about the deplorable coffee in the Resorts.

Again, I'm not a coffee drinker (although I like the smell similar to a good cigar) but enough of you coffee drinkers have complained that I believe you! :3dglasses

We actually carry a small Keurig that is for the pup only. It's fits right under one of the dining seats in its original box.

The coffee is not good. It is not fresh brewed. I love my coffee and WDW Califonia Grill is the only place I ever sent back a cup of coffee.

Ditto this, we have a Keurig mini that stays in the camper. The mini doesn't hold water, you just put water in for the cup you're making so it is great for travel. So nice when we're camping with electricity. When we're dry camping I use instant and agree with Lee M that the Starbucks packets are pretty good for instant!

We used to be big Melitta people and have a nice little pour-over brewer for camping, but DH went decaf a year or so ago so we went single-serve (I'm not willing to give up my caffeine!)

Thank you for the warm welcome. I have been lurking for almost a year. I have been to WDW several times and feel like I know the ends and outs of the parks pretty well but I was clueless about the fort. I was able to search and find all of my answers for an impromptu tent camping trip last spring with my wife. Since I never could really contibute I lurked, but when I saw coffee discussion I could not stand in the wings any longer. To clarify on the vacuum pack, it was pulled pork that I had smoked at home before we left not something I picked up at an Army surplus store. I feel like can afford a little more luxury as well. Roughing it Disney style :)

We use our MH and hook up to the water, but ALWAYS bring containers of water from our home well for drinking and coffee (don't cook - it's vacation:lmao:). Can't stand the slight taste of chlorine in the water even though we always keep a filter on our hose. I still seem to taste something that should not be there. We do this everywhere we go, have to have our home brewed coffee - usually don't bother with it anywhere else, except have had it at Cape May and seemed surprising good to us ( and we're LA dark roast coffee drinkers) Buy 40 1lb. bags of vacuum packed Community Dark Roast every once a year trip back home :rotfl: It's our main must-have, along with all the boiled crawfish we can put away :lmao:.
