Do you talk on a speaker phone in your office when you are the only one on your end on the call?

I am just curious why people do this. In my office, we are in cubicles, not separate offices, and I have one co-worker that ALWAYS uses speaker phone, making almost all the rest of the people in the office privy to his conversations. Why would you want to do that? :confused3

I do it - I hate holding the phone up to my ear.

Yes - Im quite lazy. :teeth:

Once in a while, I may dial the number on speaker but when it starts ringing, I just pick up the receiver. I don't get people that make calls to our office on speaker and then start saying "excuse me" or "could you repeat that" because they can't hear thru the speaker on their end. This drives me up the wall! Why do I have to keep repeating the same thing because you're too lazy to pick up the receiver?!

I've worked in both an office with a door and in a cubicle. I don't use my speaker phone in my cube, but I've used it often it in my office if the call lasts more than a few minutes for several reasons -- (1) if I'm not an active participant in the call, it makes it easier to do other things while on the call; (2) it's easier to take notes during the call and (3) it keeps my face from breaking out!
