SPB-Tours St Petersburg

I still have about 2 months before my port adventures window open, but my 16yo daughter want to do this tour. It's only me and her, I was wondering if someone would asked her to dance, but I saw your photos. Which tour you did during the day?

My daughter got asked to dance repeatedly. I am sure your DD will love it!

We did the intro to St. Petersburg trip during the day. We had plenty of time back on the ship in between to change. We even took advantage of an empty ship to do a load of laundry. The morning tour was a bus trip with 4-5 stops for photo ops. It was a good orientation to the city and saw the Church on the Spilled Blood, the cathedral, the Hotel Astoria as well as other sites from inside the bus.

For everyone on the Russia cruise this year, I really want to remind you that to have the very very best of time there book private tours with Anastsia travel in St Petersburg. http://anastasia.travel/ They are fantastic, you get concierge style service. I know the CEO Anastsia she us a wonderful lady and giving you a brilliant time in St Petes is thier priority. I used them in 2010 for two days and 2015 for two days, many of our cruise meets cruisers booked with them and all said it was the highlight of thier cruise.

We got into STB early, we got off before the tours an hour before my advertised time of my private tour and thry were already there waiting for me. We had gifts, bags, snacks book on STB, offer of umbrellas when raining, back for private entrance to the Hermitage, we had meals in Russia places, and avoided the queues. Look at my blog, we arrive at Catherinrs place and no one was outside, DCL tours will be lined up 55 at a time on a shorter tour.

If you do one thing to make your cruise better, book private with Anastasia, they gave the best guides, who will do anything for you, if you finish one place early you can move on, not waiting for the rest of a tour group.

One person on a DCL tour last year posted, " I spent 11 hours looking st the inside of a DCL coach" do not let that be you. Anastsia organise the tickets that act instead of your visa, you can get off on tours organise by STB guides no issue and without a visa. They have special offers on now.

Please please take this advice, also read my blog on it you will see how much we did what you can see, http://torussiawithmickeybars.blogspot.co.uk/, we were out day and one night, no need to go to and from the ship fir day then night tours and through border immigration four times a day.

So do enquire they will come back to you promptly, and Anastsia often meets you pre tour and post tour to ensure you enjoy your day with your guide and if there was any issue you can contact her.

I emailed them, waiting for for their response. Did they were with you all the time, I don't want to be by myself on the museums or the church, etc.

They have to be with you all of the time under the rules of cruise ships and the visa free entry. Our guide was with us on the first day from 8.30 am, - planned arrival time was 9.30 am! To 9.45pm! Day two 8.30 am to 4.45 pm.

When we eat she eat with us, our choice, the driver didn't want to so eat in his car, and when we were in the attractions, we had the most wonderful guide, she knew all the attractions and talked about all from Catherines palace to Yusoffs place, to the Peterhoff, to the Faberge museum, we had food in traditional restaurants she was with us when we went shopping. At the Savior she came in, gave us a quick tour then we choose to have some free time, she was just outside with our driver.

I felt very safe all the time, our car was smart new we all had window seats but it was Russain and didn't gave any signs saying Disney cruise line on it, so we were very very safe, didn't advertise we were tourists out of Russia.

On DCL tours you will be in a group of 55 people on a whisper system so only a couple with the guide the others further back, hard to take photos, and have to wait for those at the back.

If you get to see the BBCs current adaptation of " War and peace" most of its filmed in STB and you will recognise Catherines palace and Yusoffs.

I found that for a family of four, we did more then DCL could do, we whisked through immigration before DCL tours, we saw " real" STB IE where the Russians eat, where they shop, we beat the queues, they had a ticket runner st the Hermitage. Comparing like for like against DCL tours it was cheaper for us.

We as said stayed out in the evening, now the port us about thirty minutes drive from the city, so with DCL, if you want to be out day then night, you have to return to the ship, quick bite to eat, meet up again, get off again go through immigration again. We just stayed out, had a snack and a coffee and used that extra ninety minutes lost to/ from ship, for extra touring.

Katherine should come back to you, say your a freind of mine and they will look after you.

That is a very good plan. The issue is both Peterhof and Catherine's are an hours drive out of STB. For a day there you can do one or the other. Peterhof has the stunning fountains and gardens and is south west of STB, Catherine's is South So there is another drive between them. They have squeezed in all the other highlights.something somewhere has to give way. I had two days and a night there. What they are doing is sending your car and driver back as you tour the Peterhof and you take the hydrofoil which is quicker to max your time. To do Catherines you add driving time spending a lot of the time in the car and you will need to drop things in SPB.
