First off Congratulations!!! And, :welcome: to the DIS

The spas are actually owned by Niki Bryan Inc, an outside company... You do not have to be a guest of the resort that the spa is at to use the facilites, they welcome everyone. You will want to make a reservation though, if you want to have a treatment done. Depending on which spa you choose, they could fill up fast. Here is the link to the Niki Bryan web page

My mom and I used the spa at the Grand Floridian and I can honestly say that it was the worst spa experience ever! And the most expensive to boot!

I always hate when people say something was the worst and never give examples so here goes:

1)The actual spa building is located in the back of the resort and not in the resort itself. We spent a few minutes looking around inside, and then after asking someone, spent a few minutes looking around outside. It was a lengthy walk.

2) We were scheduled for pedicures and upon checking in were pointed in the direction of the locker room. Never shown where the robes were or offered a locker. We went right to our treatment room with all of our belongings. We ended up putting them in a pile on the floor.

3)The technician I had was wearing a dirty, stained shirt that was way too small for her. You may think this is petty, but part of the spa experience is the presentation.

4)The water was lukewarm to cool and the pedi itself was very rushed. No calf massage, no lotion.

5) The French manicure was smeared and she "fixed" it by putting on another thick layer of sticky topcoat.

6) The sauna was broken and the hot tub was cold.

7)The shower handle and drain were broken and there was hair and debris all over.

We did complain and the manager took 35% off the already way inflated bill.

I would never return there. I would rent a car and go to the spa over at the Gaylord Palms resort. That is a true spa experience!
