Spaghetti Sauce Stains In Dishwasher... HELP!

My husband accidentally started the dishwasher without pre-rinsing a pot that had cooked spaghetti sauce, and the plates we ate on.

Our white dishwasher now has a few pink stains inside, the mesh part on the bottom is totally pink, and our plastics that were in there are also pink.

Any tips on getting the stains out?

I've never tried it, but I've heard that TANG works.
My SIL said she filled the soap tray half with her regular dishwasher detergent, then the rest of the way with the TANG powder. Then she poured a splash of bleach into the bottom of the dishwasher and ran it on the hottest setting (hers has a heat booster, so she ran that).

They make dishwasher cleaners. Maybe you can try those.

I have also heard to try the unsweetened yellow lemonaid koolaid. just sprinkle in the bottom of the dishwasher and run a full cycle.

I've had that happen a few times and they always fade out after a few runnings. I will take the spaghetti stains over what I am dealing with. We had our downstairs redone last year and didn't know that the pipe in the sink was clogged. I still have bright blue painted racks. It doesn't affect the dishes and is slowly fading but it was a brand new dishwasher.

I can't help with your problem, but you reminded me of something from growing up. My brother changed the oil in his car and decided to put the dirty oil container in the dishwasher. I think my folks had to replace it.

I tried bleach and the Kool Aid... It worked on the mesh part and the plastics, but the stain is still on the tub. Off to try Soft Scrub!

OP why is a slight stain in the DW something you need to fix? This will not stop the DW from washing dishes. We never rinse our dishes and our DW keeps working great.

I would never notice a stain INSIDE my dishwasher in a million years, much less be bothered by it.

I'm guessing that the stain in the OP's dishwasher is something that she's bothered by. Otherwise she probably wouldn't have asked.
It's something I would probably want to get rid of too if I could. Of course stains in a dishwasher aren't going to affect its performance, but it's an eyesore, and I would do what I could to get rid of it...

I guess the biggest problem was the staining of all the other plastic dishes in there, which is what prompted the deep cleaning. Might as well finish the job entirely.

Try white fuming nitric acid. It will clean everything. Unfortunately, it also might dissolve the entire dishwasher.
