Spacious Restaurants - suggestions please

The tables at Le Cellier are so close to each other that when the kid sitting at the next table threw a fit, he kicked me in the leg.

Other restaurants the OP should avoid: Chefs de France, San Angel Inn (although Hacienda might be OK), Nine Dragons and Big River Grill.

Agree with Les Chefs and San angel...We absolutely love Les Chefs but you are seated on top of each other

I know everybody feels LeCellier is cramped and uncomfortable, but my ASD daughter loves it there. I should add that she's a real steak lover and considers the filet to be the absolute best food in the world so I'm sure that adds to it. But that's not the whole reason. Somebody about the atmosphere feels calm and quiet even when there's noise and somebody right next to you. The lighting is dim, the sound doesn't seem to echo or travel well and colours are muted. It's like a sensory break in there even when it's chaotic (it doesn't feel chaotic but there's still lots of activity so I know it is). It helps that we've never sat near the bathroom or kitchen where I hear it's louder.

If your looking for a great steak I ranked Brown Derbys Filet second best out of my trip at the beginning of the month! Check out my dining review at the bottom of my picture for pics and reviews :)

Sounds good - will defo get involved

Thanks for all the tips - we will have a car so we can drive to others

Will cancel le cellier - it does sound nice and special thanks to the poster whose daughter has ASD . Trouble is Tomas doesn't eat steak so 2 ts may be too much of a risk.

Will book marakesh and the wave and change mama melrose for brown derby. Thanks for all the great advice

Actually, we have found Mama Melrose to be one of the quieter and less crowded places we have eaten at WDW. We have found it much less hectic than most other places. This is especially true if you eat at times that are not the heaviest times...i.e. lunch at 1:00 or 1:30, instead of right at noon, etc.

captain's grille is a great place! especially for steak!

as is the grand floridian cafe, kona, and turf club (we'll be trying the wave next week)

the resort restaurants are laid back and our favorites. i feel like the resorts don't have as much hustle and bustle of the park go'ers and take a little better care of you (and your food :goodvibes) they are often more quiet as well. the steak at captain's grill is very good. if i had to pick one... that would be it!

try the wave, its pretty open and not as crowed as some at the park and only 1 TS for a meal - and the food there is very good

I was going to suggest here, as well. The food was really great and the restaurant, although busy, didn't feel crowded.

Olivia's Cafe at OKW was also spacious and because it is at a resort, it was a lot less busy than other restaurants.

For a really good steak, my DH recommends the Yachtman's Steakhouse - he said it was really great. The tables here were also spread out a bit more than other restaurants.

The Plaza in MK is great -- has a spacious feel. It's not too big, and the tables are spread out.

Garden Grill & Coral Reef seating seems separated from others.

Tusker House is a crowded place. Tables are close together.

Also, try off times. We prefer 11:00 for lunch, and 5:00 for dinner -- of a 2:00 lunch and a later dinner. This seems to help the crowd issues.

Hope that helps!

I thought Grand Floridian Cafe had a very spacious feel. In addition, the day we went there for breakfast it was not crowded at all. We walked right in - party of 5 at 9 a.m. with no ressie it was so empty.
