Ok, I've searched and searched and have came up with nothing! I've seen the track designs for many of WDW's rides. I cannot find the "track design" for Spaceship Earth. Does anybody know of any? Perhaps a skeleton model? A picture? Anything? I want to see the actually working path that you ride on etc. I try to visualize it each time I ride, but I come up short. :)

I've seen these designs a few times on the web (but I don't have any links).

The up-ramp and down-ramp are in the long shafts that you can see from the outside of the globe.

Once inside the "ride vignettes", your path is a slow spiral around and around.
Not very complex as these things go, actually.

I saw it on one of those Travel Channel Disney shows, where they were showing EPCOT being built. It was cool, because like you said, you can see what you imagined. Maybe you could search that way...

Construction photos of SE, showing the sort of spiral path of the show.
Here's another site with good construction pictures. The page on that site labeled Magic Kingdom Preview Center has photos of thew construction of Epcot that were apparently put up for guests to see the progress of construction.
I'm not sure what Robo means by the "long shafts that you can see from the outside of the globe", but the ones you can see from the front (as you are entering Epcot) can't be the up-ramp and down-ramp because they are too far removed from the globe and too small. I think the up and down ramp are actually just sort of up and down "hallways" built on the inside of the globe that take you up to the first spiral level.

Interesting. Where have you found this?????

all i know for sure is the top, star field area is a big empty storage room below the planetarium type sky...looked kind of like our garage with out the cars....someone left the lights on once when we were the first group to ride it . kind of destroyed any "magic' associated with it to me

Just surfing through other folk's webpages and want not. Rides with the "lights on" etc. Some people commit a site to a ride. I'm not sure of the exact website, but Someone made a CGI type thing of the Haunted Mansion ride at wdw. With a model of the building behind the facade, and the path the doom buggies ride on etc. I also have seen things like Rockin Roller coaster etc. I enjoy that type of stuff. Makes me appreciate the magic more.

I figured the going up part was a nice basic spiral. I'm just trying to figure at what point do you desend and where is it really located at in comparison to the upward spiral? When I desend it feels like a much steeper angle the going up! First time I rode this it freaked the crap outta me. lol Felt like I was just going str8 down on a 90 degree angle. (I'm Very very VERY afriad of heights and didnt dig this too much.) Coming down still scares me. Its a fear what can I say. I still ride Spaceship Earth, just trying to "figure the end out" really. I did read somewhere that there is an elevator in the center that will take you up to "the top". Now if that means to the very top of the sphere? or just to where the "star room" is? I'm not sure. I really do enjoy this ride though.
