Since it has been announced that Spaceship Earth will be sponsored by Siemens, does anyone know if Siemens plans to put something in the exit area?I have really missed something being there-it just doesn't seem the same since they removed the exhibits.Thanks. :)

I agree - it's so dismal at the end of the ride. I miss the glass floor! Hopefully they put something in soon!

Yes...I thought I read in the Orlando Sentinal article published last week that they would adding technology to these areas.

I'm having a brain fart, what is Siemens? They ring a bell as a technology firm of some kind...

They are a subsidiary of IBM, they deal with telecommunications hardware/networks.

Siemens is a german engineering firm with annual sales around 75 billion euro. They make Communications, Automation and Control, Power, Transportation, Medical, and Lighting equipment.

...and they're definitely not a subsidiary of IBM. They have about 450,000 employees worldwide.

From what we heard at work (yes, I'm a Siemens employee), Siemens will be adding a technology demonstration area at the ride exit, like AT&T used to have. Products from their Communications division, no doubt.

Siemens will also be sponsoring an area in Innoventions, and their Sylvania/Osram unit is sponsoring Illuminations and the Osborne Lights in MGM.

It's a huge deal, they're even sponsoring stuff in Disneyland.

Now only if they could get a sponsor for the wonders of life pavilion!

This is great news! Jenny2, dismal is the perfect description for the ending... :(
I hope they do something creative and wonderful with it. :Pinkbounc

This is great news. My company makes parts for Siemens all over the country. In fact they were at our company just the other day for an inspection tour. It will be a good thing that something be done with the exit of spaceship earth.

Thanks for the information. This is great news.Spaceship Earth just doesn't seem "complete" without the exit area exhibits. The planned additions to Innoventions also sound great. :)

Have you heard any information on a possible timetable for the work on the exit area to be done? Thanks. :)

Sorry, I haven't heard anything about a timetable, but my business unit doesn't really have anything to do with any of the Disney work. So I'm only getting what's on the company intranet. I wish I did have better sources, though! :)

Any chance that there will be an "benefits" for Siemens employees at Disney in the future??? DH just started working for the them this year. Have they ever done this for other sponsor companies????

i am very glad that there will be some improvements to SE. it is a favorite of myself and my DS. last trip he remarked how upon exiting SE he really felt like he wasnt in WDW anymore. the exit area is so dreary it makes you think about the waste of space there instead of the attraction you just enjoyed.

My mistake, we use Siemen's equipment at work and I swore the sales person said that they were part of IBM. Sorry

There is or was a furniture store called Siemens somewhere in Massachusetts. So for a second I though that Spaceship Earth was going to have a whole furniture theme on the way out. I am so excited that someone is sponsoring it! Maybe others will join on the bandwagon.
