Spaceship Earth rough ride hurts!

Hi all - Does anyone else find the ride at Spaceship earth painful? The car pops harshly over the tracks and it was becoming really uncomfortable. I wonder if they will fix this when they update the ride. Anyone know anything about this?

I'm not sure what exactly they are fixing, but the ride opened when Epcot first opened and the ride system was getting kind of bumpy. The part where you are going down a 'hill' backwards is the part that a lot of people complained hurt their backs.

I don't know about Spaceship: Earth as it closed for refurbishment just before I arrived but I do know that Space Mountain has gotten real rough. I rode it 2-3 times and I refuse to ride it again until they refurb it. My SIL refused to ride it at all because of the roughness from the last time she rode it. We're hoping that Space Mountain will be one of the next major attractions to be refurbished, it needs it.

I guess these are some of the older rides, but I would think they would replace parts on the tracks through the years to keep everything working well. Disney folks must ride these rides too! I guess I'm just pretty sensitive though.

I've read that the refurb will include upgrades to the sound system in the cars. And since the seats in the cars are part of the issue, and the audio is usually mounted in the headrest, maybe they'll put in some comfy upgrades.

And I think space mountain is close to a major refurb - Disneylands' was closed for about 2 years with all the stuff they did there.
