Spaceship Earth. Epcot's "welcome" attraction.

You can also enter Epcot through the International Gateway. All the other parks have only one entrance.

Disney's Animal Kingdom has 2 entrances ... granted, they both lead to pretty much the same place, but there are 2 separate sets of turnstiles. And if we're also counting California parks, both DL and DCA have 2 separate entrances ... DL has the main entrance, and also the monorail entrance (complete with turnstiles) in DTD, DCA has an entrance from the Grand Californian.

Well... If you want to be super technical about it, Animal Kingdom has two entrances. The main entrance and a single turnstile to support the Rainforest Cafe. I know - splitting hairs - but it technically is a separate entrance.

EDIT: I really should read all other posts before posting. Syracuse beat me to it.

The International Gateway premiered on January 11, 1990. :thumbsup2

While we are on the subject of the International Gateway..... Was the the canopy thing before you get to the turnstiles (the one that currently hosts park benches) ever used for anything? The logical side of me says that it was simply shade for the long lines of people waiting to get into the park, but for some reason, I remember it being something else. Every time we walk by it, I have this tickling memory of it looking different somehow.

That is the "TRAM LOADING area" that we were discussing earlier in this thread.

Buses for corporate and private events still load in this area.

How many attractions have FastPass? Is Spaceship Earth one of them?

Read something on here that FastPass Attractions go quickly in the morning? Planning to head to Epcot on an evening where they have 3 extra hours...I wonder how crowded it then is in the morning as well...Will most folks head there late in the day?

The other attraction, Mission Space...For those that have motion sickness, isn't there a "tamer" version of that attraction?

Thx for any info....

Relatively few attractions at Epcot have FastPass. The only ones that come to mind are Soarin' and Test Track.

Spaceship Earth does not have FastPass, nor does it really need it. It's a continuously loading attraction, which means that the line is constantly moving unless the ride comes to a stop for some reason.

Mission: Space does have have a tamer, non-spinning version (Green). I've never ridden it (I'm more of an "Orange" person myself), but I've talked to people with motion sickness that found that Green still bothered them. Green does seem to work for most people, though.

Do they offer fast passes for EMHs?

Do they offer fast passes for EMHs?

During AM EMH many (most) of the "biggie" attractions should have their FP distribution open.

And, if you get a FP very early in the AM EMH,
the earliest "return time" can often
be within the EMH period.

Which attractions?
Expect to find:
Expedition Everest, Kilimanjaro Safari, (DAK)
Soarin', M:Space, (Epcot)
Space Mtn., Peter Pan, Pooh, Buzz, (MK)
and many times, Tower of Terror and Rock'n'RollerCoaster (DHS)
to have FP distribution open throughout AM EMH.

Whether any given attraction will have FP during a PM EMH totally depends on the ride managers for that PM EMH.

It can change with each PM EMH or during the EMH, with no advance notice, so it does no real good, for the purposes of prediction, to say if they DID or DID NOT on any previous PM EMH.

IF the FP machines are operating during PM EMH, they "start again" at the beginning of the EMH.

If you had a "left-over" FP from earlier in that same day, and they where operating the FP queue, the CMs would likely honor it.

We were there last week, which was extremely busy, and the fast passes were gone by maybe early afternoon. I'm not exactly sure, b/c we headed to TT first, got a FP, and then got in line to ride it without much wait. It is a favorite with our kids, so we like to do it several times. Besides Soarin' and TT, I think you can get a FP for Mars and maybe for the Land (but why would you want to? Usually the line moves very fast.)

I did ride the Green version of the Mars ride. It was good b/c you still got the feeling of the Orange side - it wasn't completely mild - but I definitely did not feel sick at all. They still have the bags though, just in case!

That explains a lot. We've been to PM EMH with both scenarios...no fastpass and with fastpass and nobody believed me when I said it was different from the time before.

Earth Station was where you made reservations for the restaurants. It was not in Communicore (now Innoventions). It was where Spaceship Earth unloaded.

Sandy

I have no idea what it was called. I just remember that upon exiting the ride, you went to the back of the cavernous room and there were TV screens
along the back wall where you would make dining reservations at the WS restaurants. The rest of the room was filled with what was then really futuristic far out stuff. Today all of it would be laughable, as technology as so far surpassed what people could imagine 25 years ago.
But I think that the reason we went on the ride first was that way they could set up their meals on the way out.
Now I use it as a cool down and rest your feet ride.

Spaceship Earth's refurb is so so. The first half is much improved but I prefer Jeremy Irons and the ending of Spaceship Earth is now horrible.

Mission:Space and Maelstrom also have fastpass, though you generally don't need it for Maelstrom. I believe Honey I Shrunk the Audience has it as well, or at least it did fairly recently, but again, it's not needed for that attraction.
