Wife, 2 DD & I will be at Disney 11/29/01 the night of the space shuttle launch. We want to see the launch but no tickets left through Kennedy. Does anyone know the best places outside kennedy to view the launch? If so where and how earlier should we arrive to make sure we get a good spot?

Disneyrunner,
There are a lot of great places along the space coast to watch a shuttle launch! I haven't traveled to watch a launch in some time since I can see it from my back yard. I still love to watch it.

Here are some sites to look at:

There is also Veteran's memorial park which is adjacent to Space View park (they even pipe in the NASA commentary and countdown).

Keep in mind that it gets BUSY and CROWDED for launches. Traffic is a nightmare.

Keep in mind that launches are often delayed or scrubbed. The chances seem to be higher with a mission to the space station. So just keep an eye or ear to the news for the latest.

Have fun!

Okay, someone moved this thread to the Orlando Hotels and Attractions.

P.S. What does Orlando have to do with a space launch? In understand it shouldn't be with theme parks, but....

Very good viewing at the Holiday Inn titusville parking lot area. The hotel charges $l0 for viewing from their lot. There is a small park next to the lot where you can also watch. This area is directly across from the launch pads.
