Space Shuttle Launch

Just incase any of you are like us and were about to book tickets to watch the space shuttle launch on 8th October just to let you know they have changed the date to the 10th October

The launch is 12:33am Oct. 10, so unofficially it is the night of the 9th.

You will easily see it if it is clear out. Night launches are tremendously bright and visible from hundreds of miles away. For information on viewing:

We happened to be at our hotel (Pop Century) when the shuttle went up at night in Dec 2006. We definitely saw it go up. It was extremely bright and that was all from our balcony

Your welcome just disappointed we come home on 10th and to go the launch and spend the day there would be difficult and take 2 days instead of one oh well

It's official: STS-125/Atlantis is now due to lift off on Oct. 14 at 10:19pm EDT. STS-126/Endeavour is now due to lift off Nov. 16 at 7:07pm EST.

Could make that if its early, have to be at airport for 6pm, on a 8:10pm flight.
Don't mind going from the coast to airport.

It is most likely Oct. 31 in the early morning (after midnight late on the 30th in otherwords).

where do you find,the times out,for the one on the 31st?
is a rocket launch,as good as a shuttle launch?
think hubby would love this!

The actual time for the Oct. 31 launch will probably not be released for a while longer because it is a classified government satellite launch. However, when that launch was slated for September originally one of the sites published a time somewhere around 3am. I don't think it will change drastically.
