Can anyone tell me how close the purchased "launch tickets" get you to the actual launch site, as opposed to just finding somewhere close by to watch? Is this just for a bus ride to private site?? I was planning on calling KSC on Monday to get tickets.

I also read that they don't always do the regular tours (which take you to an elevated viewing area ) on launch days, so I am confused as to what the launch ticket includes :confused3 :confused3 :confused3 :confused3 .

Any help/comments are appreciated!

While we only drove over last July for a cancelled launch we found parking on A1A for $10 at the Holiday Inn in Titusville. We were right across the intercoastal waterway from Kennedy and the hotel sold food, cold drinks, and allowed access to their bathrooms. It was an excellent site. Too bad the launch was cancelled. :(

Thanks Debbie, that's something I'll consider. Sorry it didn't work out for you.

I did some searching through various sites and found that the launch ticket is basically a bus ride to the "causeway" - but supposedly it is a great view (6 miles out). It's $15 per person and if the mission cancels prior to boarding the bus, you can use the ticket when and if the launch is rescheduled. If you are on the bus on your way, no refund! Wished we lived closer, I would love to see a launch in my lifetime!
