so it looks like the first week of February is out.... was hoping to get lucky and get there with the original announcement saying December of this year.

Going first week of March and second week of June-doubtful we can get in first week of March even if ADR's are being accepted due to bloggers/vloggers and everyone else wanting to see it. Hopeful we can score one in June. We are willing to eat anytime of day just to get in to see it! I imagine it will be kind of like Oga's was when it first opened. We were lucky to get an evening one in early September there.

Think I'll slot it in for Breakfast then keep the rest of my ADRs for March.

DisUnplugged's live show today said the new time frame posted by Disney is early 2020. My brain starts thinking in quarterly financial calendars with this, which could mean anytime between 1/1-3/31 in my eyes. We shall see.

Will they usually not open up ADR’s until the restaurant is open? We’re going the first week of June and it would be awesome to be able to at least make an ADR that far out,....... I’m sure I share in all of your frustration on this one!

IIRC, The most recently opened restaurant, Takumi Tei, did not offer adrs before it opened.

True. The timeline for that opening was it was added to the list of "all dining" on the wdw site on June 5th (without a posted menu and no specific opening date - just "opening soon"), soft-opened with walk-ups only on July 5th (menu added to the site) and reservations opened beginning 7/16. But there's no telling if Space220 will follow a similar model.

I have a LONG history of things opening right after our trip. Animal Kingdom opened the month after my family trip when I was in college. Rivers of Light (which we had been looking forward to) opened 4 days after our last trip. So the restaurant opening the week after we leave would make total sense.

That would be great for me as well as we will be there the week after. Does that mean reservations wouldn't open until Feb 13? In that case will there be walk ins or do people typically grab all the reservations the day that reservations open?

I don't think there is a set rule for how it will be handled but I think likely that opening day and a few days after would juts be walkins and then they would start taking reservations for after that. So if we work with these proposed dates I could see it being open with walk-ups only starting on Feb 13th and then reservations can be made for dates starting for the "official" opening on Feb 20th

Does anyone know how the walk-in situation has worked at new restaurants in the past? Are the lines likely going to be out the door and looping around the park?

Our family has a trip from Feb. 15-22, and I'd love to try walking in for dinner on the 15th (if it's open at that point). But I also don't want to kill a whole day of our trip waiting in line for a table....
