Space Mtn Question

On our October trip we are going w/ some other family members (who are all newbies). My son (10) will finally have the chance to ride some of the rides me and DH won't (there aren't many). Space Mtn. is one of them. DS acts all "big and bad" about riding these rides, but when we are on them, he gets really scared. (like on TOT). He always wants to do these though, and begs to do them, and he does tough them out to the end.

Anyway, on Space Mtn, what are the ride vehicles like? I saw pics and it looks like you can only but one person in each seat. Or do you get to put 2 people side by side together? If this is the case then I think he'll do fine ( my BIL said he'd take him).

Its only 1 person in a seat. Now IMO Space Mt. is not all that big, there is really only one small drop and the rest is just playing on the fact that its dark. I think hell be fine. TOT and Rnr are much scarier.

You can be in the same space car together but only one per seat.

Only one per seat. The first time my youngest was tall enough he was five. He was not afraid, but DH and I were nervous. Our son sat in his single seat, and my Dh was on the seat behind him. My Dh leaned up and held onto the five year olds shoulders the whole time. After the ride was over he turned around to my husband and said, "you can let go now." He got right off and got in line to get back on and said to me, "you can ride behind me this time, but don't touch me." Needless to say, he was more than fine. If your son has done TOT it is way more scarry. Space Mountain is just speed and turns in the dark.

Thank you. He has done TOT, I swear he hates it while we are on it, but HE asks to do it again. He hangs onto my arm for dear life while we are on it. I guess thats part of the thrill for him. I guess he should be fine. Thank You!!
