Earlier today, we were riding TTA People Mover. It had started raining and while on the ride, the rain was really heavy along with thunder and lightning. A really huge lightning bolt, accompanied by a very loud clap of thunder, struck and appeared to hit or come close to hitting Space Mountain. TTA continued and since the rain was so heavy, when we got back to the station, we asked to stay on, which we did. When we entered the tunnel to Space Mountain again, the lights were on so we got to see the ride with the lights on. I've seen that before though this time was different because the cars full of guests were stranded at various points on the tracks. TTA continued but when we got above Carousel of Progress, we stopped and that was it for us. We sat there for about 15 minutes and they came around and escorted us all off the ride. We walked along the track to the first emergency exit which took us down stairs and let us out by Tomorrowland Terrace restaurant. So that was a pretty neat experience all around.
I have no idea what the outcome was on Space Mountain. I don't know if they got evacuated , too, or if they were able to get the ride restarted and clear the tracks. Does anyone know?
