Heard rumblings from a CM buddy of ours, that a soft opening for Space Mountain could start as early as this weekend. WooHoo!

I heard this several times while I was there last week, but was told this past weekend. It never happened. The stars and ride vehicles were on Saturday while riding TTA though.

It was in soft openings today and will be again tomorrow, not sure past that, the official open date is Nov. 22

I haven't heard about the timing of the decorations this year. You couldn't pay me enough money to ride Space Mountain!

Someone posted over on the Theme Parks board, at about 2pm, that they were in line for a soft opening ride on Space Mt. Here's hoping they report how it was.

Yes the seating is still single file. They did not change out the track and the cars. I have heard two different stories about the reno of Space Mountain. One was that they (Disney) intended to change the track and the cars but because of the economy they changed their mind. The second story was that they never intended to change the track and cars. That it was wishful thinking on all of our parts. Sorry that you can't sit Next to your kid.

I got to ride this weekend with the Lead Imagineer Alex Wright ho was in charge of everything that went o in the 7 month. It was very fun, ery interesting, and very informative.

We managed to ride it twice on Saturday It opened 90 minutes before we had to leave for the airport to fly home! What timing lol

thanks for the link, even thought I've never riden Space Mountain (too chicken) This video maybe coinvinced me to go next time I visit the World .
