Space Mountain Rehab

Looks like SM has been undergoing rehab for a long time. Any news as to what they're doing and when it might be finished?

I'd hate to haul my cookies all the way to the West coast and miss it.

They are replacing the track (it wasn't in very good condition before), updating the special effects, and rebuilding the queue and loading area. They are also replacing the rockets (the sound system didn't work well with the old ones) and getting a new music score.

I've heard they might also have a different version of the ride for day and night.

There isn't really an exact opening date yet. It sounds like it will be sometime between July and November 2005.

Thanks. My trip will probably be in Feb. or March, so I should be OK.

I think you might have misread the above dates--I've heard not until November of next year, not this year, so if your dates are for 2005, you will indeed miss it. If they're for 2006, you should be fine. I heard November of 05 at the 49th b-day celebration. They were hoping for earlier, like July, but it doesn't look like that'll happen. At least Buzz should open in May.

Space Mountian is set to open November 2005 (approx 15 months from now).
