Space Mountain Refurbishment

Only the last day of my trip is impacted. I'll have to make it a point to get on the People Mover that day.

I'm kinda jealous if you get to see something special. Cool bennie if you do.

DLPR space mountain is by far the most superior of the space mountains. I would love them to refurb it to make it like that one! If they do it would certainly not be slow.

It's not gonna happen in the near future. A few years back they refurbished Space Mountain, and maintained its layout and cars since it's historical, in a sense. Being the original Space Mountain, and a very unique ride in itself, it was kept intact. I actually love how almost every Space Mountain is different from the other, t allows a new experience at different parks.

space mountain doesn't need to be slower necessarily, it just needs to be less jerky.

i just rode it about a week ago, and i was getting jerked around the whole ride ! it wasn't too bad , but a smoother ride would be nice !

With DLP being my local park, I have to say that as much as our Space Mountain is awesome and a full inversion coaster, a lot of us are wary of riding these days as the ride itself is not very smooth - and even with shoulder and head restraints we bash our brains and come off with headaches!
That being said, R'n'R here is smooth, but you feel like you are going to fall out if you are slender like me :-/. I was shocked with the Magic Kingdom as I hadn't done my research, but I still loved it! Slowing it down would be all to sad!

I agree with this! When we rode it last year in September I had the same reaction, felt really jerky. It was fun, and the speed didn't bother me, just the bumpiness and jerking around.

I hope as part of its refurbishing, those scary warning notices are redone in an even more over the top and horrifying manner.

Ugh.

The ride in its current form does what... 27 MPH? So even if it only does, say 24 MPH post-rennovation, is anyone really going to notice a difference?

IMHO, if it makes the ride a little more comfortable and somewhat less jerky, I'll glady give up a few MPH in exchange for a less back-wrenching ride.
