I wouldn't be surprised if the Star Wars displays weren't being
updated for the new Star Wars Movie. Episode VII: Force Awakens
being released right around Christmas.

Still listed as closed on Nov 5th. I haven't heard anything else solid, but it does seem like this rumor may have some validity: it may be down until Nov 13. Which totally sucks, by the way. Jungle Cruise being down for our trip is a let down, but Space being down is a back breaker. I can only hope that we can get it for at least that last day of the trip.

Looks like Space will likely be down for our trip the 4th-11th. But, I'll still keep my fingers crossed that they get that sucker up and running faster than they thought. You never know. (Although, knowing Disney it is more likely that they take longer doing something, than shorter. )

Yeah, I think this totally stinks. Instead of a 1 day shutdown, my son's favorite ride is down for 2 weeks. And then opens the day after we leave, the day our APs expire. I would've been OK with the rumor this thread started with: it would open with the first day of Christmas stuff. Nope. All the planning, all the experience, everything I need to get that "perfect" trip.....doesn't mean anything when a park routinely shuts down attractions with less than 6 weeks notice. At this very moment, I can't imagine a circumstance where I would want to get APs again. I might change my mind one day, but I'm growing weary of shutdown after massive shutdown.

Completely agree. Shutdowns are necessary but they are completely unfair with such short notice. I'm frustrated too.

I remember them giving 3+ months notice and now it's strictly maintained at 5 weeks to the day and that is just too short of time for families to plan - which of course is why they do it.
It's a really crummy thing to do to their customers.

I watched Disney's site (https://disneyland.disney.go.com/calendars/park-hours/) every day and they only give 5 weeks (to the day) of shut down information. If you go to that site now, you will see it only goes out 5 weeks and then the days are "grayed out".
The same site used to give 90 days of info. (I have used it for many years).

I'm not sure how you got to those numbers. They just officially announced Season of the Force on Sept 24. In that announcement, they really didn't even say Space Mt would be down - it was just inferred in the blog post. Anyway. That's less than 6 weeks before the shutdown in November. Less than seven weeks before the week I'm there. That's a pretty short window. I could've moved my vacation around a little bit to catch Space Mt and the Star Wars stuff about a month ago. But now it's too late. That's the big bummer for a lot of us.

No they didn't. The only way I found out definitively for my early November dates was checking the DLR hours calendar day by day as they were posted....at just 6 weeks out.

Did anyone else notice that they just moved up the closure of Space Mountain/Ghost Galaxy up a day? Initially Ghost Galaxy was
supposed to stay through November 1st. Not, it looks like its closed on November 1st! I had promised my daughter that she
would at least get one day of it before it closes down ... ugh.
