Does anyone know how long Space Mountain will be in refurbishment the first week of November?
So far on the Disney schedule it shows Nov 1, 2 and 3 ... but typically it only take one day to
remove Ghost Galaxy after the Halloween season. We are coming the first week of November
and I would hate to miss it!

Same here - my son will be totally bummed if it's down all week.
I think all we can do is wait and see what each day reveals. :(

Some were speculating that it will be closed a little longer and reopen as Hyperspace Mountain for the Star Wars stuff. Perhaps that is why it is closed more than one day. I wondered if they could add the projectors and things needed for the overlay while it's already down, but not open it as Hyperspace Mountain until January. I'm not sure how it works.

Same here. We will be there Friday and Saturday. I wonder why it isn't listed on any ride closure websites??

Disneyland doesn't formally/official announce their refurbishments very far in advance and very few attractions follow a set pattern. I also read a rumor that they may keep Space closed for a few weeks to install the HyperSpace overlay (estimated re-opening was around the start of the holiday season according to Micechat). It seems like that is more and more possible given that Space is closed for longer than normal to remove Ghost Galaxy.

If Hyperspace Mtn is open in time for our trip (right at the start of the holiday season), DH will be absolutely thrilled!

Oh no.....we are going the 9th-15th, I will be so bummed if we miss it........we might just have to stay longer and wait until it opens :)

I'll be there from the 14th to 21st. I'm going to have a hard time getting anyone to go on Space Mountain with me from my family, but if Hyperspace Mtn is going there's no way I'm skipping it like our last trip. :)

Would there be a possibility of soft openings during your trip, @5forMickey ? The micechat link above had the downtime listed as ending on Nov. 13th...if it's accurate you should have a chance to see it!

Thanks goodness thanks for the update, although DH will not take this news very well. When we honeymooned in 1984 I want to say Space Mountain had just opened. We literally waited for 3 1/2 hours to ride that dang ride (only newlyweds wouldn't mind waiting that long). Now he insists that that is the first ride we go on every trip lol. In fact, he tries to see how many times he can ride it in a row on early entry days.....I poop out after the 4th trip cause I'm too old to keep up with them running from the exit all the way across the top to get back in line :). I think I'll just not tell him until we get there

I'm not :) We're going to be there when we're going to be there...if we get Hyperspace Mtn, that's a huge bonus! If we don't, we still enjoy SM more at DLR than we do at WDW :D

The rumor is that Disney may take the extra time now to install components that will be used to install the Hyperspace overlay some time in 2016. Not that Space is going to reopen with the new overlay. A date for Season of the Force hasn't been announced beyond "early 2016". It has been speculated that it might open for the SW half marathon weekend, but Disney hasn't confirmed that. And with a SW Half now going to WDW, I now wonder if there won't be a Seasons of the Force on both coasts that open in time for that race, not DL's.

Looks like it's been added as down for the 4th as well. Holy cow, if it ends up being down the week of Nov 8, someone's getting slapped in the back of the head. To spend our last week of our APs with no Space???? It's like I timed buying these passes for the greatest refurbishment year Disney's ever seen.

Any chance they could make it less bumpy?

And it is meant to be less bumpy than space at MK.

Maybe it just me getting older!

Still listed as closed on Nov 5th. I haven't heard anything else solid, but it does seem like this rumor may have some validity: it may be down until Nov 13. Which totally sucks, by the way. Jungle Cruise being down for our trip is a let down, but Space being down is a back breaker. I can only hope that we can get it for at least that last day of the trip.

Sad. We'll be there the 2, 3, and 4th of November. Space, Jungle Cruise, and IASW will be closed while we're there. Hopefully the lack of crowds will help offset 2 of my favorite rides being closed.
