It's been a while since I have been on this ride and this will be the first time my daughters will be able to ride Space Mountain because they are now tall enough. Unfortunately, they tend to get overly nervous about some rides. My question, when they seat you, do you sit alone or are you able to sit with someone? My daughter would definetely ride it if she was next to me, but if she was alone, even if I was only in the seat behind her I don't think she would try it. Thanks for your help!

sorry but you are in a straight line. this is the reason my son waited to ride too. he wanted to be next to me when he was younger.

You sit in a car of three separately. One in front, one in the middle, and one behind. Sorry your daughter can't sit beside you, but it's a really great ride. Hopefully, when she is ready to give it a try she will like it as much as we do!

Guess you'll just have to make a trip to Anaheim; the Disneyland Space Mountain is 2-across seating. On the other hand, DL's Splash Mountain is single file, and WDW's is 2-across.

My little sister went on Space Mountain for the first time about a year and a half ago. I promised to hold her hand even though she had to sit in front of me. I was nervous about her liking the ride the whole time, so I kept shouting out things like "YAY!" "WOOHOO!"

Well, she loved it! She went on it two more times in a row afterwards :)

Yeah just so you know, you can hold the hand of someone in front or behind you. I sat behind a 4 year old girl who was nervous at first, her dad sat in front (sort of a comfort to her) and reached back (there is a space beside the seat, which is still inside the car that you can reach back) and held her hand the entire ride. However when she got done, she was still holding his hand before getting up, and she said "WOW DAD THAT WAS COOL!". I was thinking "wow, I was never that brave when I was her age!".

Yep, my DW and I put DS 5 in the middle of the 3 seats - I sat behind and could reach his shoulders with both hands. I told him to hold on, and that I'd be right behind him. Much as another poster, I kept yelling "fun stuff" and occaisionally gave him a squeeze on the shoulder to let him know I was there.

Needless to say, the second we got off ... "can we go again?, let's get in line NOW".
