I don't know if this is old news or not--if it is, I apologize, I don't frequent the rumors board. I didn't see anything about details of the refurb on the first page, so I thought I'd go ahead an make a new post.

For those of you who are curious...we were at MNSSHP on Thursday, 10/15 and while on the Peoplemover/TTA happened to catch them testing a car on Space Mountain. It's still a single seater, not double wide like it is at Disneyland. I know that was something people were speculating, so I thought I'd give a post for anyone who's nosy!

Thanks for the tip..hope it opens soon

I am a bit disappointed it is only single seating. I feel more secure having my children beside me but it still didn't stop us from going on in January. I was also hoping for more seating since it always seems very popular with long wait times.

Thanks for the update.

Before it went down for refurbishment, they averaged about 1800 people per hour, haha, not sure how many more they can get through. One suggestion is if they are able to somehow separate fastpass and stand by guests, this would help with the lines a bit. How were you able to see the cars from the people mover, last I saw it was every viewpoint was blocked?

screamscape even say that these look like "the regular old rockits", so it would seem there will definitely be no on board audio if thats the case.

So basically its going to be the same track layout, and the same cars. stupid budget cuts!!!

You know when they're climbing on either side of you and you see the guys upside down that are kind of working on the rocket? That's where it was. Took me by surprise, otherwise I'd have a picture!

There is a picture of them here:

I posted this on another thread about SM.

They are SILVER.

They look like the exact same cars! I bet they just painted them to make them look newer.

Line organization can not in any way affect the load rate of the attraction unless that are somehow not loading as fast as they could and therefore running cars empty or light or delaying the cards for loading, and they certainly have (or had - they are supposedly reworking the queue area a bit) the capacity to pre-load people to keep loading as efficiently as possible. Although the last time I was there, they weren't really pre-loading, probably because they didn't have extra CMs working to deal with it.

A CM told me they're adding a Ride Photo.

I hope it is like Test Track and you can add it to your Photopass. We bought the Photopass CD from our last trip and loved playing with the boarders. I cannot wait until this ride opens and I can read about the updates and reviews.

We were there for MNSHP a few weeks back as well, and saw the same thing fro the TTA. It doesn't look like much of any changes, other than modernization efforts. I kind of like that, keep it as it has been, and different from DLR.

Changed or still the same I Love this ride.

I have heard the photo pass like on test track has been a nightmare for CMs. So i doubt it will be put on more rides. but only time will tell

Disney grown ups don't really care about CM's. If it will make more $$$ then I'm sure the vote will be :thumbsup2

I hope they add a little more light to the queue area. I know they want to have a "going into deep space" ambience, but I always feel like I'm going to trip on something walking through that long dark tunnel-- especially in the FastPass line since I can walk through most of that at full speed.

I think with the new queue area, they may actually brighten the lights a little, which will help make the rest of it "darker" in the process by keeping your pupils contracted more.

I havent been to DL since I was itty bitty and I am now 28, what is the or was the difference between SM at WDW and SM at DL?
