Ok...so...I have been on Splash Mountain, Thunder Mountain and Primeval Whirl. I love all 3 of those WDW coasters dearly, but have always chickened out when it came to the other 3. I will, more then likely, NEVER go on Rockin Rollercoaster because I'm terrified of going upside down and falling out of the ride (not that I think that'll actually happen on it...but I get these images in my head and scare myself :headache:) and Expedition Everest looks like it goes waayyy to high for my liking (yes...I am a chicken and proud of it).

BUT! I have been debating about going on Space Mountain for a while now...and am seriously thinking about trying it out during our trip in June. I've seen Youtube videos of it and it doesn't look that bad...but I'm still a little reluctant because of it being in the dark and not being able to see where in the world I'm going.

For those of you that have been on it for real, is it scary? I just don't want to end up getting on it and freaking out.

Space Mountain doesn't go relatively fast. It's about 30something-40 MPH. However, Space Mountain is very rough. It's bumpy, RnR is smoother, and it's not the shortest ride there is.
I love it, but it depends on the person. If you've been on all those rides, this ride should be a blast.

One more thing..if I'm trying to decide on a ride, I'll always look at ride videos for it.
Here is a recreation one that is pretty accurate:

Also check out the real ones, but I find them too dark to see.

it's fun.

i hate rollarcoasters and i loved space mountain.
the only thing that bothered me were those weird visual things in the que area.

Space mountain is very VERY easy. There is only 3 little drops, I counted :B
It's bumpy though, Other than that I adore that ride haha.
When you ride it don't put your hands up. Since it's dark you don't know what's above.
Just to be safe

Space Mountain is like BTMRR except inside in the dark. It's amazing, I absolutely love it! Go ride it. Now.

I'll never ride RNRC because I don't like going upside down. I went on EE but it scared the crap out of me.

Space Mountian is easy. I am not a chicken, but for some reason I never rode Space Mountain. No one would ride with me (because they had all "been there done that") So I think I just got nervous when the time came.

Well I went on and it was honestly easier than BTMR. It does not incerdibly fast and its not that scary.

If your really nervous try riding the People Mover, you go inside Space Mountain. While its hard to see, you do see some of the cars and the average speed.

Space Mountain is definitely an easy one. I was scared to go on it at first, but trust me, the second you step off you'll have two thoughts in your head, "That was it?" and "Let's go again!" I thought it would be really rough and scary, because of all the hype before you get on, and the darkness. But besides being a bit bumpy, it's really fun. And I have to say yeah, it's easier than BTMR.

Space mountain isn't scary but it does throw you about a bit because you dont know which direction you are going to go in. I find RnR and EE alot easier than space mountain! On EE it is quite high on some bits so just don't look down! My Dad talked me into going on them with him and they i was happy i did them because they are like my favourite rides now! Although i am scared of ToT because i went on when i was young and hated it!

HAHAHA Space Mountain rough....i guess for a disney coaster its rough but compared to most wood coasters its quite smooth in comparison...There are no disney coasters you should be scared of riding...they are all really quite tame..especiallly space mountain...Space mountain is classified by most coaster enthusiasts as a wild mouse style coaster since its single seats, small track and doesnt go very fast and has a TON of trim break sections...really if you see the inside of space mountain with the lights on you can see that the coaster is extremely tame! i believe theres a vid on youtube of it... dont be scarred of it just ride it

Space mountan is nothing
everest, barely more, and RRC is only bad if you close your eyes
if you don't you can't tell your upside down ever

All Disney roller coasters are "tame" because they're supposed to be family friendly. :)

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention...

Space Mountain is a little jerky (it sort of throws you around) because of the sharp turns. It's much better if you're in a middle seat, and much worse if you're in the very back. Besides that, I could ride it all day long! I love that thing.

I'm a huge ride wimp and i love space mountain! Especially the very back carriage

space mountain is a fairly "easy" coaster in my opinion (But not in disneyland paris!!!)
you aren't going that fast, most of the "whoosh" feeling comes from the air they blow the opposite direction.

only goes 26 mph

if you dont like heights you cant tell how high up you really are
and your not even up that high

and its a great ride

I agree.
It didn't really bother me, but it's not so great for people who don't have good backs. My parents complained of an achy back for a couple of days after riding it. They liked it, but it's wayyy too jerky for them.
They prefer BTMR.
