Sorry if this has been talked about before, but I just need to vent.

Is it just me, or does anyone else get annoyed when exiting the SM ride? I mean, honestly, that ramp is not a ride...PLEASE WALK! I know there is stuff to see, but whenever I am leaving the ride, people are just standing around talking. They don't even look at the scenes! And besides, you can still walk and look at the same time. I know it is amazing to see yourself on a television screen, but please....the ramp is not a ride so keep on moving! Some people would like to go on other rides before the day is over!

Okay, I'm done now. Thanks. I feel much better! I guess that means flames?

No flames. I'm a moving walkway rider, though.... Don't hate me. If they're uphill, I just stand. I have knee and lower back problems that make walking on those things no fun. I can do it (just like I can take stairs if I have to)- but since I can just stand there, I do.

However, I do know it must be annoying for others, so I make sure I'm way over to the side and people can easily get by my.

I think we would annoy you. We stand and gawk. sometimes. Unless we want to get to another ride. In the AM I find there are more runners than standers- but if you ride in the PM oh yeah...dogs are tired people would take the ride. I will be certain to stand in your honor when I go.

I too wish that people could stand on one side and walk on the other -- the exit area is cool to look at, and feels like an extension of the ride in the same way the queues often do at Disney, but there are those of us who want to ride the thing 8000 times in a row, and we need to hotfoot it past the standers to get back to the line in front before it builds up some more. I wish that the standers would stay to the right side of the moving walkway, so us commandos can breeze past them without being rude; that way, everybody can get what they want!

When we did not have children, we always walked past everyone. We never liked to slow down. Now that we have children, they are amazed at the TV's and sometimes they have trouble walking on it because it is also moving and it is a break for them from walking. I make sure that we stand to the side so that others can pass us.

Why don't those who want to go past simply ask.....

"Excuse us, do you mind if we pass?" "Thanks very much"

I can't imagine anyone not letting you pass on an exit.

Entrance is a different story.

I've never really thought it was that big of a deal, I mean, you're talking about waiting 30-45 seconds compared to 15 seconds. I really don't think you're going to miss much in those 15-20 seconds :/

I'm right with you!!! I hate how the stand and of course completely across the walkway. I wish Disney would put up signs like at the airport standers to the right walkers to the left. If my kids ever need to stand we stay single file against the right rail so any one can get by. If I am directly behind the standees I will say excuse me and go around but if you get a few back I just fume!

Sorry but that moving walkway is part of the attraction and I for one enjoy taking my time and loooking at everything. That is how the attraction was designed. Could you not simply ask (as another poster pointed out) "Excuse me but do you mind if we pass?" if someone is blocking your path?

We are another family of riders, especially at the end of the day. However, like most other riders here we do stand along the right hand edge so others may go around us easily. We do the same thing in airports....we just take every ride we possibly can, turn everything into an amusement park.

I'm with the OP, move over if you are going to stand. We do ask if we can pass but it can be difficult with a group that is blocking the way and then several other groups get blocked as well. If you don't want to walk just move to the side so if there are those that do want to pass they can.

Yeah, it may be only 30secs to a couple of minutes you are wasting but who are you to decide how I spend my time? I want to get somewhere and can't because you are blocking my way.

Oh no , you mean you have to wait an additional 15 seconds! Oh no! Hey Don't aweat the small stuff. Life is to short for that.pirate: princess:

REALLY!!!!!

While I wouldn't mind moving if you POLITLEY asked me to, if I choose to walk or stand still, it is my choice. It is one of the few places that have no rules posted, so you can do what you choose.:woohoo: We all paid the same price, and get our enjoyment in different ways, respect mine, and I will respect yours.:thumbsup2

So why is it respectful to completely block the walkway? I don't care if you stand and wait but to me it is disrespectful to me to block my way. Just move over and stand as long as you want and let the folks who want to walk to walk.

It is much longer than 15 seconds, probably a couple of minutes if you stand still the whole way.

I have to say, waiting for a short time should be the least of your worries. However, it was not until this last trip that I felt such a way.

I used to always try and rush past the people who stand and talk on these ramp movers, as I so call them. However, I believe they were place there for a purpose. After the ride, my friend didn't feel very well and felt rather sick. She couldn't really walk and it took some time before she got it together. Having the ramp actually helped her in two ways. For one, she didn't have to walk and for two, we were at the same time exiting the ride.

As with all the same people who get in front of me on the freeway in the left lane - I think many here missed the point.

I think it is great that people have a need or want to take it slow and absorb the walkway, I really do - just flippin do it from along the right rail.

Don't even get me started about general sidewalk use at WDW or anywhere. Just because you are in a group of 2, 3, 8 - does NOT mean you all get to walk side-by-side. And don't you dare stop in the MIDDLE of any walkway to talk, look at a map, daydream, or do whatever it is you do.

No matter where you are, simply move out of the way of traffic, is all I or the OP ask.

WOW!! Its Disney World relax :upsidedow have fun:banana: A few extra minutes of waiting will not ruin your trip! I am sure if you just ask.. people will be more than happy to step aside. :grouphug:

Yeah really.

I even go commando at Disney, but I dont mind those few extra minutes. I thank God for those minutes where I can rest my feet! Hey, look at the bright side, there could be steps instead!:scared1:

We were there in Oct 06 and there were kids playing on it. Most likely middle school age with no parents in sight running up and down and sitting on rails.
