Does anyone know of a planned closure for Space Mountain 4/21-4/24? I read a message on another site about someone's FPs being cancelled due to the closure, however, it is not listed on this sites pages showing ride closures nor of www.thedibb.co.uk?

From the "Why did they cancel my fastpass?" thread:

"Space Mountain will be down for a "brief refurb" from 4/20 - 4/28.

Our April 24th fast passes are still showing in our itenerary on MDE.

My reservations for the 24th and 28th are still in place.

Not sure I'd quite count this as absolute fact just yet. It's simply a report from a phone call to a CM. I can't imagine why, if it was definitely going to be down, all fp's wouldn't have been cancelled in that time frame.

I am not sure, all I can say is this last trip SM has been having lots of issues. The ride went down 3 times (that we were aware off) in a day and a half in the MK. So I wouldn't be surprise if it went down for refurbishment. I though I read it was a glitch in the system but nothing has been confirm yet.

I tried to make Space Mountain FP+ reservations for 4/22. I tried to book them at 60 days (so I tried to book back around February 22nd)....I was able to get 7DMT and everything else, but not Space Mountain for April 22nd.
I just tried again this AM, and still not available.

I was able to book SM FP+ for April 24th, though.

NOT sure what is going on. Is it a system glitch?
Is it a refurb?
Are they shutting ride for something related to the "Tomorrowland" Movie?
Anyone know?

Posters on the "Why did they cancel my fastpass thread?" have reported varied feedback from Disney. CMs have told some that SM is closed 20-28 April, others were told 20-23 April (this seems the most prevalent), and others were told there is no scheduled down-time.

They really need to make more of an effort to have their left hand and right hand on the same page.

one of the posts in that thread, IIRC, said something to the effect of the refurb being 4/20-4/23, but that it *may* need to be down longer, til the 28th and that they may not be cancelling FP+ for the 24th-28th until they are sure they need that time.

I have now called 5 times, with these results:

1) No closure
2) Closed Apr. 20-23
3) No closure, hold on while I check something, closed Apr. 20-23
4) Closed Apr. 20-23
5) No closure, hold on while I check something, no closure, may I please speak to your supervisor, closed Apr. 20-23

When we booked our FP for our trip April 22-28, we couldn't get any FP for Space Mountain for April 23 or 24. We were able to book for April 27 and that has not yet been cancelled. It seems like April 20-23 must be the dates.

This is what is poor customer service. Phone CMs should all have the same info regarding this. The ride is either open or it isn't..

the Walt Disney World website is now showing Space Mountain as "Closed for refurbishment" for April 22nd
