Space mountain and motion sickness

My dad refuses to ride Space Mountain because he got very sick the very first time he rode it (in 1993!). I have gradually become very prone to getting sick and can no longer do most rollercoasters at Universal. That said, I can do Space Mountain without getting sick, sans meds. However I sit out with my dad because of the terrible whiplash I get now when I ride it. My husband feels the same. We make my sister ride with my son since he loves it.

SM is one of those rides that I find really hard to like. I can take it or leave it. Never any problem with motion sickness but it has several quick up and downs that snap your neck. If you can ride Thunder Mountain and EE with the fast curving, SM is about the same. I try to sit back and stay relaxed, always a trip to the chiropractor when I get home!

My DH has pretty bad motion sickness and Space Mountain doesn't bother him in the least. YMMV.

SM gave my husband a migraine that lasted 2 days. He swears that he is never riding it again.

I get sick very easily on spinning rides and motion simulators. I have never really had a problem with roller coasters though.... Until Space Mountain. It was all I could do to not throw up when we exited the ride. I was messed up for hours after that ride.
