I tried to search for an answer but didn't find one...Has anyone ever had any problem with using Space Bags (the ones you use a vacuum cleaner with) in their Checked bags and TSA having to open them. I believe that I am leaving enough room in the suitcase if they did have to open the bag but I was just wondering if anyone has had any actual experiences using them. Thanks!

I have used Spacebags in my checked baggage with no problems. Mine wasn't the kind that you had to use the vacuum on. I packed it on the bottom and put my under garments in it. Never had an issue with TSA.

Thank you for letting me know:thumbsup2

If you are using the space bags which you need to vacuum the air out, how will you vacuum the air out when you are returning home? They hotel rooms don't have vacuum cleaners with hoses. Just curious :)

We have an air mattress pump plus we have used the hotel vacuums before that had hoses:thumbsup2

Gotcha. We have space bags at home and everytime I see the commercial for them and people are using them for vacation I always think of how they will suck the air out when they are at the hotels with no vacuum :)

I have used the space bags many times and never had a problem. In fact, I had a TSA agent tell me they liked to see the bags, because they were flat and they could tell nothing was in them except clothing.

Good to know they feel that way..:sad2: No one could make anything small or flat that you couldnt see......

Just be cautious of weight, sure you can compress items down into a small area, but the actual weight of the items you're compressing doesn't really change, so you can easily exceed the weight allowances.

Yup. I am weighing the bags in the suitcases just to make sure:thumbsup2

LOVE space bags! Never had issue with TSA.

We use the type that you roll out the air. It is nice to color separate back into the bags before leaving the resort so that I can just empty the bag into the wash when we get home!

It's a great way to pack!
