Space 220

I also would suggest the lounge. The food is ok, but the fixed price menus are not worth it. The experience of the restaurant is the same at the lounge or bar. The experience is worth it.
Agree.

I did the lounge and honestly even being up away from the windows was still a really good view. In fact it was somewhat better as I could see the whole picture (I was up by the left hand corner of the bar) and didn't have to crane my neck or tilt to see what was happening.

However it's a one and done for me. The food was meh and the price even doing al a carte at the the lounge was pricey.

Saying that I did enjoy the experience and I was satisfied. I would do it again if I was with someone who wanted to experience it, but it's not on my list of places to revisit.

How hard is it to get a lounge ADR? Or, by what day are they gone; 60+??
thanks.
If you don't get a reservation and have a flexible schedule try doing a walk up. That's what I did. Granted I was solo but there were a couple of folks doing the same thing and I didn't hear anyone get an outright no. Everyone was asked how flexible was their schedule.

On my last trip, I snagged a reservation for Lunch the day before (well, the night before, at like 1 AM while leaving MK After Hours). It wasn't a Lounge reservation, but the full lunch, but keep checking - people cancel all the time.

We thought it was worth the cost. The food was very good and definitely above a standard TS. The service was on the level of a signature. I do understand not everyone has the same taste however there is plenty on the menu that makes the cost easily worth it. There are also things that make the cost seem way overpriced. If you are going in ordering a Burger or pad Thai you feel that you overpaid. My steak came out the way I wanted and for the first time at Disney the waiter took me seriously and offered the steak Blue-with a note I say raw as I want it cooked the minimum which ends up rare+ by the time it hits the table.

We were there in May. The bar accommodates 10 people, so once that is filled with walkups, there is about a 1 to 1 1/2 hour wait for a seat at the bar.

There were some lunch and dinner reservations that people were able to get for later in the day, at various times. There was no availability for lounge seating at the podium: we were told that lounge seating had to be reserved through the app.

More an "experience" than a good meal IMO. We weren't too keen on the menu choices. We are willing to pay high prices for a meal we enjoy, this not so much.
This 👆, 100%.
I’ve now been 4x’s, always vowing to not return. But each time, someone we’re with wants to try it. We either get the lounge ADR, or wait for bar seating.
I understand its allure. The “experience” is fun, the atmosphere is unique. The “elevator ride” is sort of cool.
But when I read about the food? I seriously wonder if I’ve dined in the same location as people on these boards.I would not and will not pay for the lunch/dinner prix fix EVER again. They charge a premium for less than mediocre food. And that’s a generous statement, imho.
Alas, food opinions always vary greatly from person to person.

We ate at the restaurant and liked it. We were there the 2nd day it was open, and it was a great experience. I found the food a bit heavy for the park, though, and think a later dinner, when you want to relax, is better than mid-day. My son and his family got the lounge and liked it, because they wanted the experience more than the food, but their server had an attitude because they only wanted small appetizers and a drink, so it pretty much ruined it for them.

When we sat at the bar the server was very nice. I thought the food was good, but I wasn't paying a fixed price. The mixed specialty drinks are kind of sweet.

Took the six year old this February for lunch. She totally was into the stuff floating by in space next to our table. The food was pretty good, especially the Salmon my wife ordered.

Was it worth the cost? I have to say that the six year old enjoyed it a lot more than Be Our Guest, which was about the same price. The adults all felt like "This is Disney, so we expect expensive. This is an average Disney value proposition."

Later that trip, we went to Steakhouse 71 for dinner. We spent similarly to Space 220 per person and felt that the food was a LOT better, but the atmosphere wasn't engaging for a six year old.

I thought it was just me LOLOL The food was so mid and everyone seems to be raving about it.

Thanks for confirming that I wasn't the only one.

I enjoyed my lunch there, though it wasn't the best steak in the world (or even on-property). It was good. I will rave about the buffalo cauliflower appetizer though - I could've eaten another plate of that! Overall, I'd say it was solid - expensive to be sure and worth doing once, but it's not the greatest restaurant in the galaxy.

Why do you wonder that? Are you new here?

Like literally every restaurant thread on these boards EVER is exactly the same - some people love the food at Restaurant X, and some think it's the worst food they've ever eaten.

Oof I would not say the steak was better than Yachtsman. But we did S220 in 2019 and Yachstman even farther back than that, so you never know who's in the kitchen after a few years.
Again, it may have been a perfect alignment of the “stars” so to speak, but it was the best steak I’ve ever had on property. At the time, it was “coffee-rubbed”. Not sure if that’s what they are serving now, but when we were there, that’s what was served. If I recall, it was right when it opened.
