For those that have dined at Space 220, was the experience worth the difficulty in obtaining a reservation? I was able to grab one for lunch on 8/28 before heading out to the airport for the trip home, but am wondering if it is worth the inconvenience/rush.

Hi! Ok so my family and I just returned from our trip to WDW, and we ate lunch at Space 220 on July 5 at 1:20. This meal was AMAZING! I went in a little cautious because I have heard mixed reviews, but I can confidently say that we all enjoyed the experience and found it to be worth the hefty price. It is so immersive from the second you step into the elevator, the cast members are incredibly nice (we gave ours, Erin, a cast compliment!), and the food was soooo yum. I got the Caesar salad and the centauri burger, and very much enjoyed them! The calamari, which my sister got, was also great. We had a table right against "space" and loved seeing the details up close! I would 100% dining here for lunch, at least once :)

Our family LOVED it. The experience was awesome, from the minute you walk up to the welcome podium.

We found the food excellent, and the service was outstanding.

It is on our "must do" list from now on. Definitely worth it to us.

We were fortunate to book the lounge, so we each were able to choose between the prix fixe meal and the lounge appetizer menu. We both chose the prix fixe and enjoyed our food, which was WDW table service quality and price. We really enjoyed the view - we were high up and could see pretty much the entire set of windows. I found a lot of really interesting sights took place in the far corner, such as the astronaut family walking their astronaut dog. It’s not a must-do every trip, but we’ll very likely return in future, especially if we can be up in the lounge area again.

Have heard mixed reviews so great to read such positive ones.
I'm not OP but we have an ADR for lunch and debating on keeping it or not.

We have a booking at Space 220 for 10 at 4pm but we seriously don’t eat appetisers or dessert. Will we still be charged the fixed dinner price ? I hadn’t noticed the price difference when I booked I’d have chosen an hour earlier. 🙈

This !!!! (and if you are a salmon fan---- some of the best Ive ever had !!)

Thanks everyone. Sounds like it is worth doing so I will plan on keeping it unless I can trade it for a lunch/dinner reservation on 8/25 or dinner on 8/27.
I have one on the 27th for lunch you can have. It’s for six people but I’m happy to adjust it down before cancelling if that helps you snag it with the same party size. I posted it in the August cancellation thread but there’s been no interest to date.

While I greatly appreciate the offer, I am locked in to Animal Kingdom through mid-afternoon on the 27th. Thank you very much though.

Get the chocolate cheesecake..if you like chocolate and/or cheesecake this was top quality. The rest of the food was ok for me but the experience was lovely. Was in lounge though with a direct view of all the windows. I feel like I wouldn't have liked being right up against the glass especially the outer two. The middle 4 at least had the earth and most of the "extra" things happening.

Since 4 PM is considered dinner time, yes, you will be charged the full dinner prix fixe price. It’s sad that if your ADR were for 3:55 PM you’d pay less!

Do you need a reservation for the lounge?

It was on my husband's must-do list for our January trip. We're a family of 6 (him, myself, and kids 12, 8, 4, and infant). I managed to get a table for 4 at some point fairly early into our trip and planned to have him go with the three big kids while I stayed back at our Yacht Club room with the baby. As luck would have it, I snagged another ***LAST MINUTE*** table for 4 just as the big kids were coming out of Storm-Along Bay to get ready to leave for their Space 220 dinner with Dad. When we got there, they were nice enough to convert our 2 tables for 4 to a table for 6.

It was...A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. My husband said he would've felt sooo bad either telling me just how wonderful it really was or lying to convince me that I really didn't miss that much had it not worked out so that we could all enjoy it together.

At least one dinner reservation at Space 220 has for all practical purposes become our first priority for every trip to Orlando now. We already have a reservation there for our next Disney trip in September and are hoping to get one for our October trip to Universal.

It seems that I am in the minority here, but it was a one and done for us. It wasn't terrible, it just was not, in our opinion, remotely worth the money.

The theming is great, and DD3 was so nervous about the elevator ride because she felt it was real, but now she talks about it fondly, saying she liked going to space, which is not what she said at the time but ok.

The drinks were really good, and I am generally a straight whiskey drinker, not a cocktail person, but even I enjoyed what I had. And while I don't know if it's on the menu right now, I will say that the carrot cake was truly the best that I have ever had. The calamari was good, not amazing, but good. However, out of our party of 9 I believe 4, maybe 5 of us ordered steak and I personally ordered the upcharge steak at that. Every single one of them was overcooked. Not inedible, but overcooked. They did offer to recook but none of us bothered because if they were all like that it just didn't bode well for a do-over and frankly, we just didn't want to wait for everything to come back out while others were eating.

Also, DD3's salmon was almost, not quite, but almost undercooked. It was edible but had it been taken off the cooktop even 30 seconds earlier we might have had to send it back whether we wanted to or not.

I am truly glad that we got to try it, but for what it cost, being unable to even correctly cook a steak to order, there are just too many other options to justify spending what we did for that meal.

Funny because although I did the lounge not the whole dinner, what stood out as the best parts were the dessert and the decent Old Fashioned. The sliders I ordered were just meh. But I think if you're going in for something like drinks and a quick bite or dessert then it really does change the perspective of it being more worth it. I don't think I would've had a positive reaction if I had paid an exorbitant amount for food similar in quality to the short rib sliders. Not that they were bad but...well, you know...

I have a lounge reservation (11.30am on 21st August) and although we were going no matter what, it's nice to hear something positive being written about the food. We'll just be having the chicken/waffle and short rib sliders/fries and a drink, so it won't be too expensive. It's just about the whole experience for us.

Are there dessert options in the lounge? I don’t see them on the menu and might be missing something obvious. Thanks!
