Space 220 and Park Passes

Hi all... a quick question regarding what you might do in our situation. Currently we have a park pass for April 7 set for MK and it is our last park day for this trip so we kinda wanted to end it there. However, we got Space 220 reservations for that evening (6pm) for dinner. Would you change the park pass to EPCOT to make sure we can get into EPCOT? I'm not that nervous about park hopper availability being shut down but ... it would be just our luck to not be able to get into EPCOT to eat at Space 220.

We could always hop back to MK in the afternoon -- but then we'd have to go back to EPCOT for dinner (which isn't that long after park hopping starts, right?)

What would you do?

So, to clarify, you're wondering if EPCOT might not be available to hop to in the afternoon? If so, I wouldn't worry about that at all. That happens so infrequently, it's not worth the stress. Keep your plans the way you have them. In reality, if any park was going to shut down to park hopping, it would be MK - so your "Plan B" might be more at risk than "Plan A". And if, by some strange set of circumstances, they stopped park hopping into EPCOT - I'd go to guest services and show them your ADR - I'm sure they'd get you in. But I truly think your plans for that day are fine - enjoy MK early and EPCOT/S220 later.....

Yes that is the question. Thanks so much for the reply! I think we will keep it, but just gauging thoughts. This is my first WDW trip in 25-ish years.... Tower of Terror was brand new the last time I was there! No park passes, etc.

With all the planning you need to do now and all the stress and expense, this is NOT one of the things to be on your 'worry list'! Have a great time!

Agree with @thanxfornoticin. You should have no problem getting into Epcot for park hopping. Actually I don’t know if Epcot has been closed to hopping at all since park reservations were instituted. The only time I remember park hoping actually being stopped was for an hour or 2 at MK on the 50th anniversary on October 1st 2021. Might have also happened this past Christmas or NY Eve but I didn’t pay a lot of attention those days. Otherwise it has never been an issue. Enjoy your trip!

You will be fine. We park hopped to ECPOT on NYE with no issues. To my knowledge park hopping was only stopped once- on the first day of the 50th celebration at MK only. Even then it was only for a few hours. No other park has been closed.

To date Epcot has never closed to hopping. Only MK has since park hopping restarted.
