I have a spa tipping question and am hoping for some advice. I usually tip 20% at the spa for various services - the girls there are really great. I've recently started laser hair removal which is rather expensive and usually only takes a few minutes. So if I am paying $300 for a laser treatment that took only say 10 min to do, should I still be paying 15-20% gratuity? That would be up to $60 tip.
I'm just thinking that a full body massage over 60 min of quite hard work for the employee is about $99 and she would receive a smaller gratuity.
Not sure what I should be tipping. :confused3 Thanks for any help!

cant really say but if ends and everyone is happy so be it

I probably wouldn't tip $60 for 10 minutes of work to be honest with you. Like you said, it isn't exactly a grueling job either. I would guess $10 would be about the most I would give.

That's a good question. I almost consider that a medical treatment, akin to plastic surgery. But, I suppose if you're getting it done at a spa then it's a bit different. Really, I'm not sure I would tip at all. You're already paying so much for it and like you said it only takes 10 minutes.

Thanks for the replies! :) I'm still thinking what to do. Maybe I'll just go with 10% or so. That is still alot though. Anyone else have any ideas?
