We are a family of 4 heading down over Thanksgiving. We always have a day where we sleep in, so I thought that it would be a good opportunity for my wife and youngest daughter (14) to go to the new Senses Spa at Saratoga Springs where we are staying.

I'm looking at the services and trying to decide what might be something they would both like to do,,, together. I'm a guy and have never been to a spa, so I have no clue. Can anybody give me some advice on what might be a nice treatment and what other things they can do inside the spa. I think there is a nice sauna and whirlpool.

Also, if anybody has been to the new Senses Spa at SSR can you give me a review? It just opened at the end of July after a lengthy refurb. Plus Disney has taken over the operation of it.

Thanks

I can't help with the review, but my suggestions for a mother/daughter spa treat would be a manicure & pedicure package, facials, massage, or any combo of these. The 14 yr old won't really "need" a facial, but they might have a sugar scrub, chocolate facial or something geared towards kids that they could do together also. I think you can't really go wrong at a spa so don't stress too much over it

I just did this a couple of weeks ago with my daughters! We were at the spa at the Grand Floridian, but they are both Senses spas, so the experience should be similar.

We did the pedicures, which I believe cost $80/each. It was a completely wonderful experience! We checked in, were invited to change into these very plush robes and sandals, and relax in very comfy chairs. They brought out special fruit juices, and offered us cucumber water and zucchini muffins, as well as fruit. The pedicures were wonderful, much better than anything we have at home.

After the pedi's, we were welcome to hang out and use any of the spa amenities we wanted. They had a hot tub, sauna, showers, hair dryers, hair straighteners, anything you may have needed. It was a really hot day when we were there, and that shower before heading back out to the Hoop Dee Doo Revue for dinner was the best!

I would strongly recommend this for your wife and daughter. My daughters and I are hoping to do it again next year.

my wife and daughter did it last trip, over at GF. I took the boys for a guys lunch at ESPN, and the girls went for a spa treatment. They enjoyed it greatly, and I didn't question it until I got the bill!

Hi I'm a therapist at the senses at GF. Keep in mind that the 14 year old will have to be with the mother at all times. If she receives a treatment the mom will be required to sit in the treatment room while the service is happening. I'm sure she won't mind because they will both love the experience. Especially the young one! Both spas are absolutely gorgeous and so relaxing and pampering. When they both come in ask the front desk if they have appointed someone to be the princess of the day. The princess will get to wear a crown and be treated like royalty her whole day at the spa. She would love that!
