Spa reservation question

I have booked (and paid for) our first vacation in five years. We will be doing the 7 day land/sea package Easter week. We have the whole package with transportation from airport to resort to port to airport. I have a question I hope someone out there can help me with.

My mother and I wish to make spa reservations for several different treatments. I found a roadblock in that the transportation from our resort to the port doesn't leave until noon. This would put us at the port well after boarding has begun.

My question is this:

Will this time of arrival put us out of the running for spa reservations? Especially the cabanna massages!

If timing is everything, I can book a car to get us to the port earlier. However, then I wonder if that negates the transportation back to the airport.

Thanks, in advance, for all the help!!:sunny: :earsgirl:

I have a question, too about spa reservations.....do you go to the spa for hair braiding reservations when you first arrive on the ship?

I'm bumping this up for you. I have read on here that the Cabana Massages go very fast but I'd hope someone else will be able to verify this and answer the other question.

As I recall hairbraiding reservations were made at a separate time and place. The embarkation navigator you receive upon arrival at the port will have those details. It will tell you what reservations are being made at the spa upon embarkation as well as anything else.

I THINK the hairbraiding were on deck 9 near the Goofy pool but am not 100% sure as we didn't make any.

If you're doing a land/sea you will be all checked in once you arrive at your resort, so you will not have to go through that at the port. However, a 12 pm resort departure is likely to be more like 12:30 meaning you'll arrive at the port around 1:30. You'll be able to go straight into the boarding line and once onboard head straight for the spa. By the time you're onboard the CC massages will probably be gone, although chances of some onboard treatments would still be likely if you're not too particular about time. The 3 & 4 day cruises (not sure which version of the land/sea you're doing) have less availability for spa times than the 7 day.

As for the transfers that is a tough one to answer. Our KTTW card showed the transfers we'd purchased - APA for airport to port to airport. I would presume if you chose to get a car for the resort to port leg you could but am not sure how that would work with luggage. That is one you'd probably want to call DCL if you booked directly or your TA and have them find out.

Then post what you find out here so that the rest of the curious minds can add that to our stash of info!

The hair braiding is done next to the Goofy pool. reservations were taken on Monday morning, between 8:30 and 9:30. It presents a slight problem for people who have the early seating for the character breakfast, but not a significant problem. My daughters went after finishing breakfast and still got the time they wanted.

Thanks FantasticDisFamily! :teeth:

I plan on calling CRO this week and I will post what I find out. :teeth:

ON our 4 day you could make an appt. whenever you saw the braiders--we saw them Monday night by the ESPN club (their nighttime location until 10PM) and made my DD#1 an appt. for the following night, last appt. of the day. However, by that time they were pretty booked and told people during my daughter's appt. they should try on Castaway Cay.
