I am a spa junkie and I would love to know what treatments you've tried on your cruises - I am having a hard time deciding if I want to splurge much on this because the prices strike me as rather high for the allocated treatment times.

The exception to this appears to be the Surial treatment, which I definitely plan on scheduling.

Anyone here try the Surial? What did you think? And how about those other treatments? Should I just schedule them here at home before the trip and save some cash?

Shower me with advice... please!

My husband and I did the Surial last March. It would have been fun had I not been so sea sick. The room is divided into 2 different rooms. Room 1 is the shower room with 4 wash basins in the middle of the room (where they leave the muds) and a heated ceramic bench. Room 2 is the steam room it has 3 little pods in it. The pods are ceramic heated seats that have something like 4, maybe 6, different water water jets that you can spray on you while sitting there. I wish I had pictures, I wasn't thinking. You are allowed 45 minutes. We must have been in there 15 minutes and I was asleep wrapped in 3 or 4 towels on the heated bench in Room 1; DH was in Room 2 melting away. The poor attendent thought we'd fallen or something as she came to the door and knocked at the 45 minutes, then again at 15 minutes, then again at 15 minutes. We felt so guilty for taking up 1 1/2 hours of time. She definitely got a huge tip for not screaming at us. Maybe next time we will take our Mickey shower clock with us. HECK next time maybe I won't be sea sick.

I also did the ionthermie. It wasn't what it was all cracked up to be. My skin felt nice and smooth. The electric pulses were a little different. Wish they could do my whole body.....

Hope this helps. We definitely plan to the surial again.

we did the Surial bath (there are pictures on Barb's site) and loved it! we did it while in port at Nassau though so the ship was docked. my only complaint was the steam bath was very very hot! too hot - we weren't in there long

I did a massage on CC - very nice and relaxing. great atmosphere. I'm glad I did it once, but won't use my CC for a massage again

thanks for the input. It sounds like the Surial is a must-do... :D

Has anyone tried any facials at the spa? I have very sensitive skin and a great facial would be a lovely treat...

We did the Surial twice so far. It is now called the Exotic Rasul and the price is $83 for 1 hr. We really enjoyed slathering mud on each other and the "alone time" we had without the kids. I do agree that the steam is very, very hot and by the end of the treatment I was ready to get out. We were getting very lightheaded. Bring water with you to drink so you don't have to open the door to step outside for the fountain. You also get to use alot of their products. The have shampoos, body washes, facial washes, etc. I found a really great product for my face. Just wish it wasn't so expensive.
We also tried the Aromastone Therapy massage. It is quite pricey at $175 but it was the best massage I have ever had. And the therapist, Nina, was the sweetest girl.
I have also tried the Ionithermine Algae Super Detox. That was interesting but I would rather spend my money on a massage. It was $145. I had that done 2 years ago and it was cheaper then. The prices have really gone up.
Hope this helps.

I am interested in the facials also. I have very delicate skin and can be damaged easily:(

Worried on how skilled the staff is:confused:

Thanks again for the info.
